Has anyone else bet this way? I've done this the last 3 times at my local Casino and made profits of $100 $150 and $160. I'm betting the 3-1 on 1-12 and 25-36. It's single zero Roulette so my odds are 65 percent. As long as 13-24 don't come up I win half of what I bet. I never lost more than twice in a row and my biggest winning streak was 9 in a row.

My bets were anywhere from $10 - $60 per spin but mostly $20. Is this unheard of or common to bet like this? A losing streak can eat away pretty fast but you are less likely to have a losing streak when the odds are at 65 percent. My session yesterday I was down $140 on the slots so I decided to play a lot bigger on Roullette and bet $100 three times in a row with this strategy and quickly made $150.

I know you are risking more as I could lose a lot more but I like the odds and it's been a fun way to play. I don't expect to have that result I had yesterday every time but I find it's a lot better than betting the 2-1. ‎

any strategy is fine if it's fun for you. but none of them change the odds of the game.

this type of strategy where you bet lots of numbers will just create lots of small wins. and occasional big losses.

it's like the guy that bets 34/35 numbers and wins one bet every spin. except when that one number comes up and he loses 34 bets.

if you can get lucky and avoid the big loss, you can walk away with money, which is always fun.

but eventually variance will catch up with you and you'll lose.

and with this strategy you can easily lose 2, 3, 4 ... 10 in a row. it will happen.

I have played this strategy before. Won some, lost some. I normally play $5-$10 tables and will bet 2x minimum bet normally. After a while it starts to get a little boring, at least for me. I will add in what I call 'hurry up offence', which means I will add one minimum bet to a 6 number row which I think pays 5.33:1. Ultimately I have 26 of the possible 38 numbers covered (including 0 & 00), plus I have multiple bets on 4 numbers.

I'm guessing you meant you're betting the 1-12 and 25-36 at 2 to 1, otherwise I would suggest you to bet a lot a money on your strategy.

However if this single zero wheel is European (where even money bets are "imprisoned"), this leads to a lower house edge. Then you're better off betting an even money bet and covering 6 numbers of your choice to cover 2/3rds of the board. Pay Triple has suggested to do this on the forum in the past.

Yes it is actually 2 to 1 not 3 to 1. I've been saying it wrong thinking the black/red even/odd is 2 to 1 but I guess that's 1 to 1. Can you explain what you mean about 6 numbers and covering 2/3rds of the board? I'm somehow not following that..thanks.

I agree it will always catch up to you and I know I've been lucky with it so far. I do like the higher chance of winning on each spin though but you are risking to lose more money. I understand the odds are the same in the end but this way seems better in my mind.

I think, he is referring to playing a scenario on red, black, odd, or even.

If you play red, you get 18 numbers. Then if you randomly play 6 black (or the green) numbers you will have covered 24 of 36(37/38) numbers, which is the same as 2/3 of the wheel you mentioned.(minus 0/00).

    Not sure what "imprisoned" is.

Haha no doubt..I stick to a gambling budget and if money was that tight where I was using mortgage $$.... I would not step into a Casino at all.

the reason that option is better with En prison is because it has the same payouts, but reduces your HA by about 25%.

The way I play it (hat tip to PayTriple for posting about it previously) is 3 units on 18-36 and 1 unit on 7-12. If any of those 24 numbers hit, there's a profit of 2 units. 18-36 is an even money bet, so on a European wheel I only lose 1.5 units on that bet if the zero hits.

I typically don't roll high enough to play this on a single-zero wheel, so I give up some House Advantage by playing on the double-zero wheel. At the Hollywood Casino in Charles Town, WV (I consider this to be as close to a "local" as I have), however, their double-zero wheels use the concept of 'imprisoned' bets as well.

Here is Party (Pay) Triple's roulette strategy taken from a TR last year...

"I bet 3 units on the 1-18 or 19-36, and 1 unit to cover another section of six numbers. This way I cover 2/3rds of the table (excluding the zero). If the zero hits, I lose the 1 unit and half of the 3 units on the high or low outside bet. This works out to a house edge of 1.6875%."

Yes, PT's play worked for me. Up for the year last year playing this. Not much but up. Didn't play it a lot maybe a total of 3 hours for the year but again came out ahead. Would definitely recommend this play. One time I built it up to 1800-600 and won then reduced back to 300-100 lost and walked away. Don't plan on winning but it's fun when you do. Lots of high fives flying around.

Few times I got greedy and added 100 on each of four out of six columns at 2/1 and of course lost somehow.

I want to try this, if I can find a cheaper 0 wheel somewhere. Or on a 00 wheel giving up some HA.

I play mostly on the slot type Roulette machine which only has a single 0. I have had good success on that vs the real Roulette tables and my local casino has 2 of these machines. The wheel is digital..we played the same machines a lot at the Bellagio.

Thanks for filling in here guys (and others). The "en prison" rule is important to the method of betting an even money bet plus 6 numbers to cover 2/3rds of the table because you only lose half as much on the even money wagers with the "en prison" rule.

If that rule isn't at the single zero table, then you can bet any 24 numbers at random and the house edge is still always the same.

If you're playing those, then it's unlikely that "en prison" matters. Also betting single numbers on those sometimes have higher house edges, so I would stick to things like 1st 12, 2nd 12, etc.
