Looking for some input from fellow VMBers. I'm an experienced Vegas traveler heading back to Vegas with some friends who don't go as often. I've been put in charge of planning our meals. Since I am going with a variety of eaters/spenders... I am looking for your top 3 meals you ever had in Vegas and your top 3 value meals you ever had in Vegas. Also by value I mean inexpensive. I get that there are some great deals out there for fabulous food, but I have friends that think that $50 a person is too expensive no matter what they are served! Top 3 meals can be anything, anywhere!

I feel very sorry for you. You are not going to win this at all.

    Good luck.

I would focus in the area where you are staying, or playing.

Buffets are not all bad. Folks can eat what they want. No issue with one bad meal being sent back and everyone else has to wait.

Personally (which may or may not work for you), we always eat at Mon Ami and Olives (outside).

LOL!! Oh I will win. I've already told the cheapskates that there will be some more expensive meals and they can participate or find something on their own. I'm just willing to find a more inexpensive option for some other meals to keep the group together and happy. I appreciate a decent meal for an inexpensive price, which is becoming harder and harder to find these days in Vegas!

    Overall
    1) Bone In Ribeye @ Delmonico
    2) Beef Wellington , Sticky Toffee Pudding for Dessert @ Gordon Ramsey Steak
    3) Assorted northern thai dishes at Lotus of Siam

    Value
    1) Off menu steak special at Ellis Island
    2) Happy hour at Triple Seven
    3) Hash House a Go Go

The Ellis island deal gets a fraction less amazing each year (creeping up in price, and conditions, and no longer including a beer). But it is still pretty great value and should be a reasonable walk for you if you are at Paris.

The other value tip would be to look for cheaper breakfast buffets (weekdays to avoid brunch pricing), many of which you can get coupons for. Time them right and there will be breakfast and lunch food. And if you are the right sort (some people can't handle a big meal), it can stand in for breakfast and lunch. The cheapies in your group should appreciate that, and breakfast fare is relatively hard to screw up.

Top three is Julian Serrano, Robuchon, and Blue Ribbon sushi. Top three value would be Burger Bar, Tacos & Tequila, and Noodles (on dim sum cart days)

The best value is to go sit in the bar at lunch time at Julian Seranno. Tapas run between $5 and $7 and sangria can be had for $5. The selection is huge and the food can't be best. Best meal is at L'Atelier.

    Top 3
    Le Cirque @ Bellagio
    DelMonico @ V/P
    Julian Serrano @ Aria

    Value 3
Ellis Island - ask for off menu special (breakfast/dinner)
    Earl of Sandwich @ PH
    Burger Bar

    Moderate 3
    Grand Luxe @ Venetian
    Olives @ Bellagio

Buffet note - some of the moderate buffets have beer and wine included in the price - weekdays are cheaper, weekend buffet brunch prices are stiff.

    Best of luck.

    Some good advice.

BUT - and a big one:

    * How many people
    * Where are you staying/

A good deal that takes 40 minutes and a few taxi cabs to someplace nobody wants to go is not a good deal

Too hard to nail down a Top 3, so I'll just list the ones that I've really enjoyed over the past year: SW, Carnevino, Bouchon, Bardot, Sage, Fleur, Milos

And I'll echo the Milos love...best deal in town.

For the value play I would look into happy hours near where you are staying, especially the tapas types like what has been brought up before. Combine that with a breakfast buffet or a trip to EI and you might be able to be both good and cheap(er). -Russ

We are a group of 8 and growing. We are staying mid strip in CET row, spread out between Flamingo and Paris. Not too worried about travel, if it's feasible we will go. We are planning a trip to Lotus of Siam and an evening downtown so we will travel. I have some in the group that would travel 40 miles for a good meal and others who wouldn't. Just give me your best experiences and I'll figure out if it can be done or not...loving some of these options!!
