Has a Diamond Lounge been added at The Linq? Thinking about staying there in February but trying to judge the pros and cons. I like the availability of a Diamond Lounge so I can take a break from gambling every once in a while. Any reason I should choose somewhere else other than The Linq? I am comped at all Harrah's properties but have never been to The Linq. Thanks
No diamond lounge at the Linq, though there is a diamond check-in. Diamond lounges are just a short walk away though, as both properties on either side (harrahs and flamingo) have one. If you've never stayed at the Linq, I would give it a shot. I've stayed there twice and enjoyed it, and overall response on this board has been fairly positive. If you do a search, there are a number of recent threads on the Linq.
Wife and I stayed at LINQ for 3 nights as part of an 8 night stay back in July. We wanted to see what the renovations looked like. I'd give the room a solid rating, and our experience there a solid rating as well. We don't play at LINQ much, although I do enjoy the craps table at O'Shea's. The only thing lacking in our stay was the quality of housekeeping. Water bottles were never replaced, and the in-room provisions (soap and shampoo dispensers) were empty the entire time. A lot of people complained about the elevators being slow, we had no issues, but we also were not there on a weekend.
I love the Linq, staying there for a 4th time in January. Both the diamond lounges at Flamingo and Harrahs are within a 5-8 minute walk from the guest elevators, so it's not bad at all. I play a good mix of tables/slots. The slots have gone downhill at The Linq as a lot of my favourite ones were taken out, but I'm hopeful there are some newer ones installed since January. I play a lot of slots at harrahs, which is close by, plus they have a numb bar which is delicious. I wouldn't stay at Harrahs or Flamingo over The Linq though. The rooms at Linq are far better than what you'll find at Harrahs and Flamingo and the location is all basically the same. Diamond Check-In at the Linq is never busy.
And I personally doubt they would add one. I am guessing there are times they would like to close down the ones they have, but it would be very difficult to do so and piss off too many people.
Did you use the pool at the Linq? If so is it nice. How large was your suite? We are thinking about staying there. We usually stay at Caesars and have also stayed at Cromwell and Paris. Thought we would give the Linq a try this time. Thank you.
We had a Linq king suite, 16th floor, pool view, in District 3 (tower nearest the High Roller) last week. 2 tvs, sectional couch, fridge/sink bar area with a Keurig, 1.5 baths. No tub, but the shower is nice. Bed was very comfortable. If you've stayed at the Cromwell, then the Linq King suite is basically the size of two Cromwell rooms side by side, one side being the bedroom and the other a living area. The only Linq cons for me were spotty ATT service in the casino and our west facing room, and the music from the LINQ could be pretty loud up till 2-3 am. A lot of people don't like the walk to your room if your at the end of District 3. And the elevator wait times for that district pretty much suck if the hotel is crowded. We would take the stairs up 1 floor to the pool level and then take the "pool elevators" up to 16 and that solved the elevator for us. We also stayed at Cromwell last week. My wife liked both properties. She actually preferred the Linq and Crom rooms to the CP Augustus room we had 2 years ago. The Linq furnishings are newer and nice, but come nowhere close to the Cromwell styles and details. I consider all 3, Linq-Cromwell-CP Augustus, superior to the rooms we have had the last 4 years at PH hip suite, Flamingo go, or Paris red, but YMMV.
