    My Trip Report

I wasn't planning to write a Trip Report so soon after my November Trip so this will be short and sweet.

    Dec 30th
We stayed at Bellagio. I wasn't supposed to go on this trip but some people bailed on my GF so I stepped up at the last minute. We arrived very early from the East Coast at approx 9:30 AM Vegas Time.
We checked our bags with the Bell Captain and then ate Breakfast at Cafe Bellagio. We saw Terry Fator that evening which was our 2nd time. I heard he had a Christmas Show the week before and had
hoped to have seen it but he was back doing his normal act.

    Dec 31st
We stayed close to the Mid Strip this time. We played at Bellagio (of course) and Mirage the night before then Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, NYNY, Monte Carlo & Cosmo. We saw Britney at Planet-Ho
on NYE and thought she put on a great show. She's a good Entertainer! We saw her in an Arena back in 2009 but felt the PH Venue was more up Close and Personable for her. I don't know how they do
it night after night... My knees were killing me just watching her dance haha!

    NYE
We've done it 4X since 2006 and I've have had enough! They blocked off the Streets and Sidewalks different this year so we got caught up in a Massive Herd out on the sidewalk outside of PH. There was so much
pushing and shoving that I started to have a Panic Attack! We practically had to fight our way through the crowd to get back into the building. Once there I had to catch my breath. We barley saw Fireworks on top of Aria!
I Never want to go through that ever Again!

    Jan 01st, 2016
We rented a car and drove towards Mt. Charleston to Lee Canyon to go Snow Tubing. It was something you do not expect to do in the Desert! It brought back some childhood memories and was alot of fun to do!
I've been around Snow my whole life although I've lived in Florida for many years. I'm not a typical Floridian who wears a winter coat in 60 degree weather! Being the Highlight of our Trip I thought I'd share a few Picts.

    Conclusion
The Gambling conditions haven't been very favorable this year. That's why I said in my last Trip Report that I was Burned Out. And NYE was a Total Mess I'm sad to say. Anyway I'm sure I'll be back but no telling when.

Snow in the desert....awesome! Thanks for the pics!!

Sorry the trip didn't do too well gambling wise. There's always the next time to take Vegas to the cleaners!

I can tolerate crowds but I do not like being IN them. That massive herd scenario you described must have been a nightmare. I don't think I'm missing anything by not going to Vegas on NYE.

I can understand Vegas burnout. I've been consistently losing at craps where it can get a bit tiring. I found by mixing craps with VP play it becomes more tolerable and enjoyable.

    Thanks for the report.

Wow, very cool. is the snow tubing year round or just winter? I think I heard once that there is some year round skiing near Vegas, but I can't recall if it was Mt. Charleston or not

NYE has never really been my thing. Going to Vegas or NYC for NYE holds zero appeal to me, so I certainly understand why you wouldn't want to go back then.

Thanks for the TR. Gambling conditions have been rough for many on this board as of late. I feel your pain...so much so that my normal enthusiasm for Vegas has waned somewhat. It doesn't last long for me. I lick my wounds, rub a little dirt on it and walk it off. In my best Terminator voice I tell the gaming gods that "I'll be back!" I'm planning my epic comeback as we speak. Thanks for the Mt. Charleston pics.

I was unaware of this winter sport.

Did you pack winter gear for the tubing? What does this cost?

Great pics! Thanks for sharing your adventure. I can't imagine being there being stuck in the herd of people for NYE.

    NYE

The trick is to time when you will walk out into the Street and hope the Sidewalks have not been Blocked off.
Allow yourself at least an hour or more to find a spot on LV Blvd. This year they had extra Security in Place.
Being down in the Street is fun. Being trapped on a sidewalk with a fear of being trampled to death is not.

    SNOW

Lee Canyon Weather Conditions were 28 Degrees and Sunny on Jan 1st, 2016. The Cost for the Tubing was $45 per person. It would be best to - Purchase in ADVANCE online.
I packed; Long Cargo Pants, a Mock Turtle Neck Long Sleeve Shirt, a Beenie Cap, Gloves which I did not wear a Fleece NorthFace Jacket and I wore Leather Walking Shoes.
I do not think it is year round. I went to Mt. Charleston in the Summer once and got caught in a Hail Storm & Flash Flood. It was in the 100's back in Vegas but 40's up in the Mountains.

Very cool pictures. We've been wanting to get up to Mount Charleston for years, but have never made it. Looks like we should. Sorry you had such a bad NYE experience. We were going to stay at Ballys, but decided to skip out on the madness. I think we made a good call on that.

Thanks for the report and the awesome pictures of Mt. Charleston!! I don't want any part of Vegas during NYE. Heck, I live 20 minutes from Times Square and I would never step foot there on December 31st. LOL Way too many people pushing and shoving. What fun is that?

Great TR! Sorry you didn't had good luck. :( And I probably would have had a panic attack on NYE in Vegas too! Seemed good enough to watch a live stream of the Vegas fireworks at 2am back home in St. Louis instead.
