We were in San Diego in October of this year and decided to check out Harrah's Rincon. While there, I happened to make Diamond in a Day. Does this status expire in March 2016, or will it run until 2017? I am curious to know if the rules for DIAD are different than for those who are more "traditional" diamonds?

Level is level regardless of how you make it.

    Yup.
You should get decent offers from Rincon after a few months.
I made DIAD in a there last year, and got $3000 in one month ($750 free play per week)

LOL, you're not kidding! I barely got home and was getting phone calls and emails with offers from my new host at Rincon (that I never even met)! We thought it was a nice casino but I wouldn't make a special trip.

Thanks everyone for the info about my newfound Diamond status. I'm primarily an MLife player but now I can venture over to the Diamond Lounge for a change of scenery once in awhile! If I remember correctly, the two free show tickets per month counts toward the High Roller so I plan to use it for that as well.

Do you have to do it all at one casino or could ya get a few 1000 at different casinos as long as it's in 1 day

how did you get DIAD? Anyone have a good overall approach? I assume playing high level VP would be the most cost effective.

and how did you get your DIAD Tim? Playing VP I assume? What was the plan/execution and did it go as expected?

    Took $1500
Kris and I played 2500TC on 50c 8/5 BP. I think we lost like $1000 right there
Played a $5 3-reel slot (2x/5x/10x variety) and hit for $5000 and finished the other 2500TC.
Lost close to the entire $1500 original stake (plus the $5000 if you want to count that)
BUT like I said, we got the $3000 right away, plus all the "perks" and also room comps (We've stayed in Reno, Tahoe, Tunica, Vegas, and Laughlin)

Thanks for the info Tim. I wonder if DIAD (if earned NEXT year around 2/1/16) then means i'm diamond until 2017? I heard it only last a month or two if you play at the wrong time, but that is old data.

Whenever you earn diamond status, it is good for the current year you're in and then the following year. For example, if you earn DIAD in February, March or any month till the end of 2016, you're diamond till February 2018.

If you earn Diamond in the 2016 Calendar year (No matter if DIAD or play EVERY DAY a little bit) it'll still be valid Diamond until 3/1/2018.

Thanks EM. I earned platinum in October 2015, and my card expires March 2016 (physical and online). Will i still be platinum from April 2016 until February 2017, or does it work differently than Diamond from your understanding?

The latest CET info has the Tier year ending January 31. Status earned in 2016 is valid until January 31, 2018.

The card will always expire at that time, same as the online TR account. After the date, it get's updated to reflect the new expiration. You're good till February 2018, or actually like newmans mentioned above, according to the newest info, is going to expire January 31st, 2018.

So I'm curious of others trip reports on doing diamond in a day. I currently have no status (gold) with TR and I definitely understand comps etc are directly related to ADT etc. however on my upcoming trip for the super bowl there is a good chance my bankroll will be significantly more sizable than the past. To the point I'm considering doing DIAD upfront on the trip.
What games have people done this on in the past. Assumption of VP being the lowest -EV game but which games are most reasonable. Obviously $5 VP is gonna get you there quickly but potential win/loss is probably 5k easy.

Anyone done this on 100play or 10 play VP and at what stakes and how long did it take you and rough +/- on the attempt.

    Thanks for the input

IMHO, I would go for it in two 2500TC days. (e.g. Diamond in two days)

Unless your bankroll is very big, or you hit big early, just getting to 2500TC in a day can be tough, and who knows how good/bad the second day could be.

    Just my .02

    Yup.
If you go play 2500TC per day, back to back, you'll get decent offers.
    Step1: STUDY VIDEO POKER
Step2: Go find $1 8/5 bonus poker and play 5000 hands in a day. This will take between 4-8 hours)

    Enjoy the perks.

If I were going to try this, I would probably do 5 or 10 play JOB at the dollar level, depending on how much time you want to spend. At that denom, I'm thinking you could find 9/5. 7/5 BP at the very least.

DailLun makes a good suggestion if you are running really bad during the first couple thousand TC, though obviously you'd ideally like to get it done in one day if the goal is boosting your ADT.
