Always wanted to enter one of the small events, don't expect to win but I'd like to experience it once. If I luck into a buy-in I will give it a go :)

If work schedule allows, will play in the seniors again, went out about 1100th of 4000 when I ran JJ into KK with about 14 BB left. The guy who put me out went on to get 4th for over 200k.

For the main event do you get to choose which of the 3 Day 1's you want to play in or do they choose?

Do it if you can. I played in a $1k a few years ago. First time at the WSOP. Great experience.

They have a $500 event now, which has a bunch of runners, and a great first prize. Bit of a lotto, but hey, gotta be more fun than playing the lottery :)

As long as the day hasn't sold out, you can pick which day 1 you want, when you buy in.

Day 1c is always the most over subscribed, which is what Day 1a/b form for day 2, and Day 1c has it's own day 2.

Day 1C (and what used to be 1D) - the final day 1 - seem to have the softest field because there's a lot of players, some who have already busted (some multiple times), already in the hole, on tilt, etc. The hardcore pros will tell you it makes no difference, but as an aspiring amateur I'll take any help I can get :)

Correct about buying into whichever day 1 - if you pre-register online and wire your $ in, you can get guaranteed entry into whichever you prefer. If you show up in person it's based on seating availability.

Having another baby this summer so I won't get out for it, but plan on winning the Main Event in 2017 (or at least getting on TV).

No doubt it's softer, which is a just a by-product of the huge number of runners.

Busy time in the TRN household around autumn it would seem :evillaugh

I remember you saying you missed the WSOP last year as you were having a little one, or was it the year before?

Best of luck with the ltitle one, anyway. I hope all goes smoothly, and will possibly see you at that TV table in 2017... If I make it back again!

Main event does not allow you to buy in again after busting. All day 1s are soft.

I don't like the colossus playing to the money and allowing multiple cashes. I like how they did it last year and never liked the events where you can multi cash.

Planning on making out for the triple draw lowball event!

You can buy in again on another day 1... e.g. if you bust in 1A, you could rebuy in 1B or (AND?) 1C is my understanding... is that incorrect? They treat the other events like that.

    Prefer to do EDC?

    :)

That's the case for most tournaments in Vegas, but the WSOP Main is one and done.

Been playing a little 8game recently, so I can maybe dip my toe into the mixed games this summer.

Likely lighting my money on fire, but more interesting than just playing the 2 card games.

They main is a one and done! It is only multiple day ones due to field size. You are correct that their other multi day one events allow multiple entries, but not the main.

Hah I never realized that. Makes it that much better of a tournament/event.

Can't wait to get back into it and cash - I'll be featured on the final table tv coverage in 2017 :)

I've been to three WSOP's, and I always find that I like playing the first flight like 1A so that I have downtime, and time to study for the next day 2 so I am well rested and prepared. Got about 200th out of about 7500 in the MillionaireMaker last WSOP $1500 buy in event, and I really chalk it up to taking the first flight/day so I had a day in between to relax and be refreshed for day two.

I'll be there again this year from Day 1 until the main. Can't wait!

Marky - the Orleans has some good mixed game tourneys and a few of us who are updating tend to play low limit mixed game during the summer, normally at Mirage or Orleans.
