I'm getting pretty excited about my upcoming trip and just for the heck of it, I opened the Bellagio mobile app on my phone to see if there's anything new. I haven't used this app in awhile and this time I was greeted with a prompt to either download the MGM International Resorts app, or go to Bellagio.com. I decided to download the MGM app since it seemed like something different was going on and I found that the MGM app gave me access to all MGM properties, as well as the option to log into my MLife account. When I brought up my MLife account, it not only showed my upcoming reservation (which was a first) but it showed the dollar amount of my suite, taxes, and resort fees, followed by a total due! This was a little annoying because the reservation was booked through my host and I'm RFB. I called Bellagio VIP Services just to ask what my reservation included and they confirmed my RFB status and a few other comps associated with the reservation. So, not surprisingly, the data shown in my mobile MLife account is not technically accurate. However, I was thinking that having this kind of precise room cost information could be helpful when trying to more realistically gauge what percentage of my theo I am getting in comps..... right? I'm curious, has that info always been available in the app? It was new to me! When I log into my account through mlife.com, it shows the reservation but, unlike in the mobile app, absolutely no detail relating to charges. This was also the first time a comped reservation booked through my host showed up in my MLife account at all. Go figure. Happy Holidays everyone!
MGM has been doing some work on their various web sites and apps, a lot of the hotels are switching basically to a mobile-friendly display no matter how you connect. One thing I noticed which ties in with what you said is that if you have booked a comped reservation via an MLife offer at MGM Grand and you go to their website and look up the reservation using the "Guest Services" link, it displays a price. I believe the price displayed is the rack rate for the room however, not the rate the casino is paying the hotel for your stay.
I haven't logged on the Mlife website in years but the past weekend I was planning our March trip and was able to book three comped nights in a strip view Grand King painlessly. Mark
Interesting, my 3 nights comped in February lists a price of $140.83. Under resort fees and taxes. I don't believe Mgm has charged me a resort free on comped nights in the past. Are they doing so now?
We are often charged a resort fee upfront, but it gets comped off on the back end. Your play and results will of course vary.
