We're headed out during winter and I'd like to take my favorite leather jacket. But I know when I go inside the casino, I'll want to take it off and I risk leaving it on the back of a chair. I've done this once and it was recovered by security. So DH says bring your old jacket - better to risk losing that one.

I'm torn. My new one is nicer and will provide more protection if it's windy. But if I lose it I'll regret it.

    What would you do?

Life is too short not to enjoy wearing your favorite leather jacket. Just make a better effort to make sure it goes with you when leaving the chair/casino.

how can you forget your jacket?

don't you notice that you're cold when you get outside and go back for it?

Figure out a way to put your name and cell number inside the jacket. That way if you leave it you'll (hopefully) get a call right away.

I check my coat at the bell desk. I have enough trouble trying not to loose my bankroll. Don't need to loose a jacket., too.

ive done it once, either last year or the year before that...I was drinking of course, swear I left my jacket on the counter in the palm room diamond lounge as I have done many times before, went to the tables to play and put my jacket on back of the chair, i ended up pushing the chair backwards and standing at the table...finished playing and walked back to the palm room diamond lounge...i go to grab my jacket off the counter I thought I left it on and its not there...my friend who works there calls security and they check the tapes and said I never took the jacket off...I walked back to the table I played on and my jacket was still on the chair with someone sitting in the chair playing but not leaning on the jacket...I grabbed my jacket and thankfully i got it back cuz it was quite expensive and inside had my car and house keys with my car valet ticket, my wallet with debt card and many gift cards and cash...I got ribbed later for it but was happy

last week my girl got drunk and lost an expensive coat, she dont know if it was in the cab or casino but no one turned it in.

That's the thing.....I drink when I gamble so that increases the chances of losing track of my jacket on the back of a chair. I could try keeping it on my lap instead. Would be less comfortable but you'd know when you stood up that it was there.
The one time I left my jacket on the back of a chair I was still in the same casino; I realized it a while later, went to security and they had it. But what if someone other than security picked it up?

This is brilliance! I cant believe I've never thought to do that.

We used to go to Reno so my husband could ski and I could get my VP fix. Atlantis had an area right next to the Bell Desk where they had a fantastic system for checking coats, boots, skis, etc. In Vegas I've always just put my jacket on my lap or found a way to not go outside.

I have lost my shirt in various casinos!

When I'm there and the weather is cooler we may walk around to the other casinos but do most of our gambling at our "home base casino" so I can leave my coat in the room.

I've lost 2 leather coats in vegas. I've actually left them multiple times but have always been able to find them again. After losing my second one I no longer bring a jacket that I'd mind losing.

I have yet to lose a jacket but I've lost my ass many times.....:poke: (sorry, I had to be a wise ass.)

On a more serious note maybe try tying the arms of your jacket around your waist once you take it off. I do this when I play at the craps tables.

My mom did. She left it on a chair and went back for it twenty minutes later. It was long gone. We checked with security and no one turned it in. It was just jacked. That's why I layer my clothes well so I don't have to wear a really heavy jacket. I usually bring something I can drape over my purse when it's off and that I won't be crushed over if I lose it.

I've lost my ass/shirt reference joke #4. Like a fine wine.

I can understand a jacket in Reno because it gets butt cold, but Vegas is just chilly in the winter at night and enjoyable during the day. The sunlight warms the soul. I guess that I would rather long sleeve shirt it and be chilly than risk losing a jacket in a casino.

I almost always wear or carry a sweater, big shirt, or light jacket when I'm in LV because it's often {expletive}-ing cold in the casinos!

This past week (just flew back yesterday) I've worn the light jacket most places outside and in the casinos. I've only taken it completely off when dining. I'll unzip it in the casinos.
