    My Trip Report

I've enjoyed all of your trip reports so much (Vegas and non Vegas) and all of my trip reports have been very low rolling but....I think I'm headed down a bad road haha. Lately I've been going to the casino a lot more than I probably want to admit, and have started betting a lot more than I used to but it's been a lot of fun and I haven't been uncomfortable doing so. I figure with no Vegas trips for awhile I can play with more money for now. I've even had some decent free play offers lately, one for $50 which I turned into $150 and one for $45 which I ended up losing that and $100.

I thought I'd share a story about a visit I had on a recent weekend visit. A lot of my previous trips I would just play 2 to 1 roulette and often leave even or close to it. I've been playing more slots hoping for a hand pay and mixing in some blackjack and roulette. I went for a good 4 hours recently and it was a big roller coaster ride for me. I took $300 in and started out by playing the money vault slot $2 per spin progressive.*

I lost $60 really fast then played up and down and cashed out at +$60. Went to the roulette wheel and placed an $80 bet on black, lost that and was down $20. Went back to the money vault slot and got up to +$80 for the night. On a bonus spin it landed right beside the progressive which would have payed 1.4 million.....oh how sweet that would have been but I know the machine does that on purpose to make you think you were close! Decided to take my money and play some blackjack and was down $200 a lot quicker than I could imagine. I was betting $50 per hand and lost a few $100 bets.*

I had $100 left. Took that to a 50 cent 2x 3x 4x slot which I've had some success on in the past and bet max ($1.50) per spin and won and lost and played it for far too long and was down to $20 of my $300. Going to the atm was not an option (when my $300 is gone I'm leaving) so I figured well I'll see what I can do with $20. Headed to blackjack and slowly crept my way up with $5 bets to $80. Took the $80 to the roulette wheel bet it on odd and won. Took the $160 back to blackjack (not real tables at my casino just the digital with the dealer on the screen) and bet $100 and won. Back up to $260 but down $40 still. Decided I felt lucky so I decided to bet $200 on a hand and won that now got my $300 back and up +$160. That $200 hand was my biggest bet to date and wow what a rush that was!*

Now I'm playing with house money so I'm feeling pretty good...that changed quickly. Took the $160 back to the slots and lost $100 on the Flinstones slot. I don't know why I bother with that slot, I never win but I thought I'd give it a try with house money. So now I'm up $60 and decide to go back to roulette. I made one $60 bet on black and won then decided to try and double it again betting $120...bad idea lost that bet so now I'm down all of my house money.

Do I leave at even and call it a fun night...nope. Back into my $300 and back to the blackjack table. 2 straight bets of $100 2 straight losses now down $200 on the night. I just about bet my last $100 but decided to only bet $10 as I had a bad feeling. Lost my $10 now down to $90. Bet $90 won. Bet $180 won. Bet $200 I had a 6 and a J Dealer showed ace I thought well this hand is toast. I hit and got a 4 stayed at 20. Dealer flipped an 8 for 19 I win and can't believe it....got so lucky on that one. Now I'm up $260 on the night and sitting there trying to convince myself it's time to go home because your luck has to come to an end. I bet one more $50 bet and won for a total profit of $310 on the night. I had a bad feeling about another big bet so I bet $10 lost and headed out up $300 for the night!

Now I know what it feels like to be down to your last $20 and make a comeback like that then lose most of it again and make an even bigger comeback. Not a nice feeling at times but the end result was pretty satisfying and in the end I had a blast! I know some people on this board bet a lot bigger but this was a pretty big deal for me! I enjoyed re living that night while I typed this out.‎

We have been to the Niagara Casino a few times, we like that one too. Brantford isn't too bad either. This winter we might spend a few nights at the Niagara hotel/casino.

There is a Quality Inn across the street from the Fallsview that is very reasonable that includes parking and (maybe) breakfast in the rate. Winter is cheap and the water is still flowing over the falls.

Great suggestion, we do love the Falls in the winter too and the prices are usually pretty nice.

My friend swears by The Oakes. Join their mailing list for their offers. It's usually a falls view room, dinner credit at Remington Steakhouse, wine tours and then they have theme specials where sometimes they throw in $50 Freeplay or romantic package themes. It's different every month.

Heading there for New Years to see the bands play, Tom Cochrane and Styx this year. Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto. Havent been there in years.

We are also heading to Buffalo in the new year for a hockey game. Any experience at that Casino?

Sounds like a lot of good options for Niagara. I myself have never been to any Buffalo casinos so I can't help you there.

I would recommend the Doubletree Hotel we have stayed there many times very good service, clean, within walking distance to the Casino.

Seneca in Niagara Falls better than the casino in buffalo. Seneca is more of the big barn type as compared to Fallsview. It reminds me a bit of Vegas due to the smoking - I guess not necessarily a good thing! They do have a non-smoking section with machines and a few tables. They also have a mezzanine with slots that never seems to be busy and fairly smoke free. They have a great big jumbotron and they will show sports on it. We saw a Jays playoff game playing VP, sitting at the bar recently. They have decent cover bands on the weekends and some decent headliners in their theatre as well. Slots are slots to me. Don't play enough to give you experience on payouts. They have a decent number of tables in a few different sections of the barn.

    Worth a visit.

That's the one thing I do love about the city casinos around here...the non smoking aspect! I remember when they were all smoking, poor ventilation and just disgusting. It's funny though in Vegas it just doesn't bother me that much. I guess most of the casinos there have decent ventilation and well....you're in Vegas so who cares!
