Does anyone here have experience staying in the Bellagio Villas?

I've never stayed in one and my host is offering one up for a spring weekend with a few of my guy friends, so I'm trying to weigh the pros & cons. It's 4 guys together so we definitely need 4 beds but not necessarily 4 bedrooms. I'm weighing this against a Skyloft @ MGM or potentially doing the B parlor suite w/ a connector (in either case we'd also get another small suite or two for more beds). I get that a Villa is a whole new level/experience, but it's definitely overkill for us -- we just don't need a weight room, barber station, massage room, full kitchen, and so on...

One advantage would be we'd all be in one place.

My main question, for those of you who've stayed in one or more of them: other than "huge", what are the floorplans / layouts like? There's nothing to speak of on B's site, and crappy Youtube "tours" don't help much.

The 3 bedroom Bellagio Villas have 2 king bedrooms and one bedroom with two beds in it, so 4 beds total (there are also 2 bedroom Villas, so make sure you get a 3 bedroom). If you need other rooms on the same floor, some of the Villas have "entourage rooms" across the hallway from their entrance that are basically regular rooms normally meant for the personal staff of the Villa guest.

Floorplan-wise, everything is accessed from a single, central hallway. You enter into a foyer, and there is a hallway running perpendicular to the entrance that runs the length of the Villa. Immediately in front of the foyer is the living room, which consists of a wet bar, indoor-outdoor fireplace, TV and couches. Facing the living room, you are also facing the backyard, where there is a pool and spa. Please be aware that the literally the entire hotel looks down on your pool and spa. Act accordingly.

From the foyer, to the left you'll find bedroom 1, the dining room/kitchen, and guest bathroom. To the right you'll find everything else. The bedrooms are all on the back side and have entrances to the backyard. So if you turn right from the foyer, the other bedrooms are on the left and other rooms are on the right. Each bedroom has 2 massive bathrooms (his/hers). The other rooms are the gym/sauna, massage room, and hair salon. Everything is controlled by touch screen.

There is a limo tunnel under the hotel that you and your guests will have access to. It provides immediate access from the limo to the villa without dealing with any other hotel guests. When you check in, the limo driver radios in advance and a welcoming party consisting of butlers, bellmen, sometimes your host, and at least one VIP services rep will be waiting in the tunnel to walk you to your villa. You do not have to stop anywhere to check in - the VIP rep does it all for you in the Villa. When you have a limo scheduled to pick you up from the hotel, a butler will come to your door and walk you through the tunnel to the limo.

Being a Villa guest is pretty awesome. Even the stationery on the desks will be custom printed with your name - it says "(Your Name), In Residence". You also essentially have the run of the place. If you ask, they will bring up food from any restaurant. I have ordered room service from a blackjack table, and when it was all setup in the dining room, a butler came down to the casino to let us know it was ready and escort us up. Need something from a store outside the hotel? Yep, they'll send someone to go buy it and bring it to you.

About the only drawback is that they have no view, and the entire hotel looks down on your backyard which isn't ideal for debaucherous weekends - if you're looking for a place that welcomes debauchery with a pool and a view, your best bet is a Sky Villa at the Palms. If you have any other questions let me know.

I was in one a couple weeks ago visiting.

I don't think they compare to the Mansion villas at all.

The backyard is an afterthought having the entire hotel look down on it.

It also has too much wasted space if you ask me. It's big just to be big but not really that usable.

Neither of them have any view. One thing I hate about the Mansion is that only a handful of them have pools, where all Bellagio Villas have them. The Mansion has more shared infrastructure, such as the atrium and the pool, because it has a variety of Villas ranging from relatively small to massive (15k sq ft at the high end). There are no small Bellagio Villas, and each is designed to be entirely self contained with no shared infrastructure except the hallways and the limo tunnel. I suppose it's a matter of personal preference.

But as long as you don't care about a view, you can't really go wrong either way. If you do care about a view, then neither will be satisfactory.

@thefish2010 and @shifter, do either of you know where they squeezed the private casino on that floor? I've seen the floorplans of the entire third floor and every inch of space is dedicated to either a villa or studio/entourage suite.

It's also worth noting that one of the villas has an elaborate awning over the pool so the rest of the hotel can't see you.

I assume Mike is talking about the private gaming area that can be reserved with enough notice and a high enough credit limit. I recall reading about it a couple years ago. I think Vegas Chatter even had a couple pictures of it. Its not on the main floor or part of the back rooms in the bac area. But I don't recall reading that it is connected with or specifically associated with the villas

I haven't been to the Villas since they built the room you are referring to ~2 years ago. However, there are only 9 villas on that entire floor, and the private casino is only a few thousand square feet. There is extra room there. If I had to guess, I would say they built it at the end of the hallway near where the elevator down to the limo tunnel is, which is on the side nearest to the Cosmo. There would have been some expansion room there, I believe.

Why would you want to play in a private casino? Just seems like it would be boring without the atmosphere of the larger casino

Wynn Fairway Villas>Mirage Villas >Bellagio Villas

Never saw the " private casino" when i stayed there but overall, I wasnt that impressed due to the lack of privacy.

The backyard of the villas----pool, lounge area and dining area can all be covered over with a tent, thus insuring privacy

Fairway villas are a little less than half the size of Bellagio Villas (and are indeed smaller than Mirage Villas), and only a fraction of them have pools. Wynn does have Apartment Villas, which are on par with Bellagio Villas, but there are so few of them that the criteria to get into one is absurdly high during busy times (there is likely only one, perhaps two people on this board that would ever possibly qualify), and they share the same problem that the Bellagio Villas have with the entire front of the hotel overlooking their pools. I have stayed in Mirage Villas, and they are not as nice or large as Bellagio Villas, but because of their backyards and putting greens, IMO they are better than Wynn Fairway Villas, which IMO aren't really Villas. Wynn wanted to have alot of rooms that they call Villas to make guests with six figure CL/FM feel special, but the only real Villas at Wynn are the Apartment Villas.

IMO, Palms Sky Villas>Bellagio Villas>Normal Mansion Villas (high end Mansion Villas top all of these)>Aria Sky Villas>Mirage Villas>Fairway Villas. I've never stayed in the Chairman Suites at Venetian/Palazzo but they are certainly somewhere in this conversation. Skylofts are meh to me since there is only 1 that has any kind of water feature and the design makes them feel smaller than they are. Only problem with the Palms Sky Villas is...that they are at the Palms, whose casino has been run into the ground since new management took over. But in terms of view, pool (it's actually a massive jacuzzi, but that's splitting hairs since all of these Villa pools are relatively small), size, and overall awesomeness, Palms Sky Villas trump them all.

I have spent a fair amount of time there, and I've never seen it happen. I'm sure it could be requested but the possibility was never mentioned to me.

I've stayed in most of those fish mentioned, and I have to say hands down the Wynn apartment villas win. (See old TRs). The criteria is pretty crazy so I doubt I will do it again.
