Last night I was thinking that I need a Vegas tree too. I went looking for things I could hang, but I mostly just found slot cards, a couple key chains and some drink stirs. I think I need to start watching for potential ornament opportunities.

What a great tree! I think I will start saving my TITOs that are under 5 cents and make a paper chain for the tree next year! Merry Christmas!

Nice job! That Christmas tree is narrow though, not a lot of room to maneuver! I also like the R's because some of those look like the Riviera font (even if you didn't get them there).

    And your cat is cute!

Thanks. Yes, it's a skinny tree. But, we don't have a big house...so it makes sense. Some of those R's do look like they're from the Riviera, also part of the reason why I like them.

It's nice to have a little bit of Vegas at Xmas for me again. I didn't realize how much I've missed it.

Potential ornament opportunities... ah yes. Back when I was doing the tree hardcore, there wasn't much I didn't put on the tree. 2005 and 2006 were good examples. However, for 2007 I really went overboard with non led lights and there was a serious heat issue. I had to remove a lot of stuff. You've gone too far when; you've got a sunburn, the inside temp of the house goes over 80F without the furnace on, you melted a power bar and the tree falls apart from heat/metal stress when you take it down.

Today's led lights can really open up a lot of opportunities if you wanted to do a Vegas tree. Which I am legally unable to do.

Ornaments I used in the past; pretty much anything you can tape up, wire up, add a hook to or make a chain out of; pens, slot cards, key chains, jewellery, mardi gras beads, feather boas (watch the heat and pets with those) tiaras, party noise maker thingies, Christmas crackers (the things you pull on), do not disturb sign that you legally obtained without disrupting anybody's sleep, key chains, chips, squished pennies, show tickets, tito tickets, thimbles, spoons, shot glasses, snowglobes, porn slapper cards, swizzle sticks, coin cups, cups, mugs, airplane bottles etc.

There's not much you can't do if you have no taste or sense of propriety is what I'm saying.
