Last two trips to Harrahs AC after we retired for the night and hung out the do not disturb sign somebody coming in later grabbed it and hung it on their room door. The nerve of some people. So last night I decided to mark the sign so I could id it in the morning if someone took it.
But we got in a bit late and a bit "salooned" so I totally forgot to bait the trap. I was hoping that I could get it back in the morning and that housekeeping would wake some jerk who probably got to bed around 4 0r 5.
Mrs. JG hit her second royal at the bar in as many weeks. Not a hand-pay or max bet but enough cash to bring her back from impending bankruptcy and more important she didnt have to bum money off me.

No. We've occasionally had to request a sign too.

One casino I really wouldn't have minded stealing and keeping was a Tunica Roadhouse sign that was humorous about 3 years ago. Eventually they got rid of them because they likely were all too beat up and/or taken home.

Congrats on 2 royals in two weeks!

I've had to borrow a DND sign once or twice when my room didn't have one.

    Congrats on the royals!

I've only taken one since adulthood. The Hooter's Casino DND sign hangs on my office door at home. One side says "Go Ahead Make My Bed", the other side says "No Knockers". I mean, come on, they were just asking for those to disappear.

How would that mark tell you who took it?

If you think it was the person that has it on his door - you could be totally wrong. Drunks or smart a$$es often move them from one door to another.

Thats a good point,I wasnt going to confront anybody about it ,just take it back while they sleep. If the sign got moved to somebody who didnt need it, no harm done. Not the crime of the century seen a lot worst stuff in AC.

Funny JG..I posted my non-max bet bartop Royal a couple weeks ago..Hate that 10 play max at Harrah's but congrats to the Mrs for the hit!..

But that trip (Bayview 20051) Somebody took the DND sign also.No prob though I was already up and nailed enough coffee and condiments for the next day for a dollar chip or two and gave me a chance to tell housekeeping no service needed..Next day the ceiling in bathroom started leaking pretty good and had to call maintenance about it..guess overflowed bathtub upstairs...No call-back/inconvienence comp offered....freakin Harrah's haha.

But Great idea about marking the sign !!! Love it..

Harrah's doesn't care. I moved my floor lamp at Harrah's and went to unplug it to make room for my phone charger and sparks flew from the cord that was frayed. Scared me right off. Called maintenance and they sent a guy right away. He put on some gloves and snipped the wire. Then he pulled the plug out and took the lamp away. We were there for two nights and the lamp was never replaced.

Harrah's is comping us the next two Saturdays. Must be slow there!

I was downtown one night, staying at the 4q. I got out of the elevator and saw some kids taking the DND signs and moving them around to other rooms. Guess they were bored so decided to do some mischief. I notified security who didn't do anything about it.

Lately I haven't had any problems with people taking the DND sign off my door handle. I did take some DND signs many years ago but only because my room had more than 1 sign inside. I was at the porn convention a few years ago, one company was passing out (x rated) DND signs but I probably wouldn't hang those signs out because someone would have stolen them for sure.

We almost always have the DND sign up for our total stay. One thing I have done when they are large enough is to close the end in the door as we go out. Helps keep it in place.

THE DND signs I'm used to are the ones you put in the key card slot. I've always thought about putting some sticky lotion on the bottom of it.

That's too funny. Several years ago while staying at Planet Hollywood we left are room one morning and someone had put a DND sign like that on our door. I was giving my wife a hard time over breakfast saying she was making too much noise the night before. I kept it in the outer pocket of my suitcase waiting to pass it forward on one of our trips but it disappeared on one of our flights.
