    In my town --
Wow........people are decorating with lights more
    than I've ever seen.
    Looks great !
    But I haven't joined them.....I had a flimsy look last 2 yrs --
It wasn't worth it + i'm not buying more ( no place to store the lights, anyway ).
    How 'bout your town ?

I was chatting with one of our neighbors last night and he noted how many more houses in the hood are decorated, and I think he's correct. We're finally catching up as my usual early December travels always slow us down. Most of the exterior is up -- my afternoon charge -- and we have two trees this year because, well, Terri wanted another one and I think that's just grand. What we are debating is the Christmas entree. We're making chicken and dumplings for Christmas eve and tamales and enchiladas for the 26th. I think -- think -- the big un will be a five-bone prime rib.

    Well......what do I know ?
My wife informs me ( this a.m. ) she's headed to Home Depot
    for Outdoor lights.
I explained, "Honey, there's no electrical outlet in the front of the house."
She asks me, "Well, how then, are our ( attached ) next door neighbors lights all lit ?....they must
have an outlet ?......why don't we ?"
I answered, "Because we didn't buy their house."

And I thought I was going to pan up some shrimp, basil, butter, garlic ------
looks like I'll be busy figuring out the mess my wife will make out front !

I live in a 1400 home complex, some people actually hire guys to do these elaborate displays,a lot of people do nothing.
I put a lit wreath in the front window,a string around the shrub below it and frame the garage in lights. Also candles in the windows.
The new thing now are those lazer light things that decorate the front of the house.
I still get a real tree even though I'm basically a scrooge.

Where I live the people really get into it. Lots of decorations, lights, and inflatable Snowmen, Santas, and everything else including the kitchen sink.

On my street EVERY neighbor decorated their house. Except me. At night the street is all lit up except for one dark spot - mine.

I've been working 12 hr. shifts. Everyday. Got no time. The only "decorations" I have is the tall grass and weeds in the front and back of the house.

    Maybe next year.
