I'm hitting the road in a few hours - when packing last night I discovered a $100 AMEX gift card that I swore I used last trip! (I called and verified the balance). Anyway I figure I'd treat my self to a nice meal, maybe a good steak. So where would you go if you wanted to blow the whole thing on one dinner (or lunch)?

Well, I am not a steak eater, so I would go with Julian Serrano.

You plan on using it in town or where you live?

I'm gonna spend it on my trip - I'm staying at NYNY so maybe I'll try Gallaghers

Assuming you are by yourself? We are big fans of Nine Fine Irishmen if you plan on spending in house. Gallagher's and Tom's Urban are both very solid as well!

If you want a good steak Gallaghers is a good option. If you want a little more high end across the street at Craft Steak will also deliver a good steak. I like Gallaghers, but Craft Steak is a little more upscale.

I'd second Craftsteak over Gallaghers. If you're wanting to visit downtown, maybe consider Andiamo at The D?

andy, if Vegas has 10 equally-commendable steakeries it likely has 25. Such is the nature of the best. And for every single one someone touts as "the best," you'll find a detractor, likely. If you're mobile, you have more options. If you would prefer to stick close to the casa, depending where you have as good of a shot at a great meal. A hundy is a good amount and will serve up a most bueno meal unless you start adding caviar and foie gras and Kobe real or faux. But you asked so here goes: Charlie Palmer Steak. The Strip also has some fun bistro/brasserie options if interested.

    Have fun!

I second Andiamo at The D. I think the best steakhouse especially for the price and service in Vegas...

In the end, it is the same as a $100 bill in your pocket. I guess I would eat where I like the food. Where were you planning to eat before you found that?

If I'm downtown, then I would have to echo several posts here, and go with Andiamo.

On the strip, I'd say Sushi Samba, or CUT.

    Great post.

Asking about steakhouses is a surefire way to get a frenzied debate going :D
