Stopped in at Luxor on Tuesday and saw that the quarter progressive JOB was downgraded from 9/5 to 7/5.

The former 8/6 JOB games near the escalator to the buffet are now 7/5 as well.

I no longer have any reason to visit the Luxor.

This is already reported on VPfree, but thought it was worth mentioning here.

I am genuinely surprised that they had room to downgrade video poker on the Strip.

I was planning to go there Saturday. Dang. Same as the bar now? That was the best drinking and playing spot.

I always enjoyed the 9/5 JOB at Luxor. Do they still have the 9/6 $1 in the high limit room?

The only place I played South Strip. This sucks VP continues to be treated like the red-headed step child of gaming. (No offense intended to red-headed step children)

I was disappointed to read this as well. It will be rare that it goes positive now. It's possible JoB is no longer the "best option". Did you possibly check any other games on that bank WWGB?

If I did check on other games, I don't remember their paytables. I was kind of in shock.

The problem continues to be the popularity of penny machines. They are profiteers for the casino, so reduced VP paytables are the only way to make VP remotely comparable for the house. (And it still isn't even close) As a DDB guy, I agree that it's too bad, but I also expect the trend to continue.

At least they didn't downgrade the high limit bar, or at least that's what I assume you're referring to.

Those are some of the worst machines on the strip. I'm talking physically ... I had to try 4 before I found one with functional buttons.

IKR, bartops are the worst. I've been known to ask the barkeep for a damp cloth now and again to clean everything off. They can get right scuzzy.

If its bad enough, I'll have them radio for someone to fix the buttons.
