We are looking at taking a Helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon in a couple of weeks. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Also any websites for best price

Maverick is the best, no question.

Not cheap though, but you get what you pay for.

I would agree with this, we flew with them in 2010 and they are a great professional company, they are not the cheapest you will find but you get what you pay for and they do look after you.

Once if a awhile somebody will run a special.

Just make sure you do one that LANDS in the GC. It is an awesome trip.

Are the tours usually sold out in advance? the chat service on the website tries to make it sound that way, but I know that is just a ploy to close the sale. Those of you that have been, are the tours full when you went?

I did a Maverick tour in May. It was excellent. (See my May trip report for more details)

The place was absolutely packed when I went. At least a dozen choppers all full with 6 guests each.

If you have done the roadside tours, taking an air tour that lands in the canyon would be really neat, methinks. You could look up realizing that you were looking down last visit!
