I would like to know if there are other tournaments (beside Planet Hollywood) that have guaranteed prize pools with significant dead money during the weekdays. Also, what is your favorite tournament or tournaments to play while in Las Vegas and why?

Hell every casino comp tourney I play is 99% dead money.

You just have to have a pulse to final table.

depends on what you are looking for .... something quick (2-3 hours) or something with a good structure where it doesn't become a shove fest in the later stages. My favorite is the $125.00 Friday night (7:05 PM start) at the Orleans. Caesars structure is pretty good also and they offer a guarantee.

Thanks for the replies, fellas. I will only be in Vegas for 3 days, Mon-Tues-Wed, so am trying to map out a schedule of tournaments and cash games to maximize my table time. I plan on playing the Venetian noon tournament all three days, then play a new room or two in the evenings. Think I will probably stay on the strip to avoid the locals haunts. The exception might be the Mon night Red Rock 3.5K guaranteed.

I really enjoy the Binions 2pm tournament downtown. (runs daily, higher buy in on Saturday) Competitive play and typically half locals/half tourists, which makes it fun. Great cocktail service as well.

"I plan on playing the Venetian noon tournament all three days" I understand the competition is pretty tough there
