Having recently got back from Vegas, I now have time to reflect on our dining experiences. We used the following freebies from MyVegas: MGM breakfast and dinner, Mandalay Baydinner, Red Rock breakfast, and Green Valley Ranch lunch. We also dined at the Mbuffet and Main Street Station. We are low-rollers that rarely dine at the high end buffets, but with MyVegas we did have a chance to do so.

We were really looking forward to the breakfast buffet at MGM, having dined there a few years back. This time we were underwhelmed by it. We like to start the morning with some fresh fruit, but the selection was very meager. We have had better selection of fruit at some low end buffets such as Gold Coast or Orleans than at this place. The pastry selection was the same and in an unusual place. Instead of having it with the desserts which most places do, it was at the opposite end of the room, and again a very meager selection. Otherwise a very ordinary breakfast. We had been told that the weekend dinner at MGM was not to be missed so we tried this on a Saturday night. We were anticipating a long line due to the weekend and the time (around 7), but we walked right in which we thought rather strange. We were expecting a bigger selection of dishes, but what was there was good. We both tried the steak cooked to order and I had the prime rib which was very good. My wife had to settle for vinegar and oil from a bottle on her salad since there was no Italian dressing. If we had to pay for these 2 buffets, we would have been very upset. Since they were free we were just underwhelmed.

Mandalay Bay's buffet was very good. We were very impressed with the huge selection and the quality of the food. We ate dinner here on a week day, and were told by another guest that the weekend selection is even better. Since it was a freebie it was a bonus, but I don't know if I would pay the $35 every time for this buffet.

Red Rock's breakfast buffet was as usual outstanding and since it was a freebie even better. Even if we had to pay this place is a bargain. For a fraction of the cost of the MGM buffet this place beat it hands down. Plenty of fresh fruit and a very large selection. They had 2 omelette station available so there was no waiting.

Lunch at Green Valley Ranch was OK in our opinion but we think that Red Rock is a better option.

We had the "champagne" brunch at Main Street Station and as usual a very nice breakfast. We always like the nice airy atmosphere of the place. The only thing missing this time was the omelette chef that we always enjoyed was absent. Well worth the money.

Our last night in Vegas we splurged and went to the M buffet. The $86 that we spent was well worth it and was the best dining experience of the entire trip. There were so many selections of fresh salads that I couldn't try them all. When I asked for a well slice of prime rib they grilled it for me. The opened crab legs seemed to be a big hit with many of the diners. The complimentary beer and wine as well as the Baileys coffee was a nice touch. The desert selection was great as well. We consider this even better than Ceasars. A must try!

We've had most of the same experiences you did with the myvegas buffet options. And we've had LOTS of these. (Haven't been to the M buffet). Most will pass as a meh meal that will do but usually not outstanding. We did really like the Green Valley Ranch in terms of freshness, selection, and service. Probably one of the best we've had from the myvegas offerings. We also thought MB was pretty good as a lunch option.

Very nice review and descriptions. Wife and I always enjoy trying buffets as part of our Las Vegas Experience. Your thoughts are right along the line of ours. The MyVegas options do open up a wide range of choices. Our litmus test of a good buffet experience is to ask, "Would we pay full price to visit here again?"

Of the MGM choices, only Mandalay Bay and Aria truly have passed that test. Nothing really wrong with the others, the value we received there was just so much higher.

Always consider Red Rock and M as the top off-strip destinations. Really impressed with a lunch visit at Studio B at M. Really want to try dinner or the seafood option on the weekend.

Benne the omelet guy is a blast at MSS. We try to get a seat near his station just to watch him play with the customers

We've always considered Studio B to be one of the best buffets in Vegas, and hit it at least every other trip. Especially good when you get a $25 dining credit in the mail. Total for lunch for 2 last Wednesday was $10, and that included the tip. They have a tomato and basil bisque that I adore.

I like that guy also, I think we're talking the same guy! I can be seated kinda far away but his voice has a unique sound and it echoes . I had the MGM lunch buffet in July and was really underwhelmed for the price. Red Rock I've only been a cpl of times but is very good. I've never tried the golden nugget buffet but will next week, along with the MSS one. Will also be staying at the start but saw on there website it's closed for a month. Also, the one at the M is very good, especially for the price!

I absolutely love Mandalay Bay, especially the brunch. (I love breakfast and lunch food) They have these crepes that are delightful. And the turkey. Yum. I see bad reviews all the time on here, but that's my favorite for sure. With MyVegas, its a steal.

We went to MGM as well on our last trip and I was not impressed. Even free it felt like a rip off.

MSS is such a bargain and always really good. I hear folks say its gone downhill. I haven't seen it, but I'm probably not quite as picky as others. A buffet that is too fancy is wasted on me. I'm looking for quality food and variety.

    Appreciate your reviews

I've stayed at the GN quite a few times and have had their buffets frequently. By far their best buffet is breakfast. Lots of fruit, omelette station, and all the other makings of a good breakfast buffet. Good value for breakfast.

Lunch buffet is okay and dinner is pretty much like lunch.

When I stay at the GN I'll have the breakfast buffet just about every day. Maybe once during the week I'll do the lunch buffet. I've only had the dinner buffet twice, definitely better food options downtown for dinner. Hope this helps.
