Last Minute Trip.Dec 1st - Dec 8th. Downtown,Strip and Off Strip.

Hey Guys,

I know it has been awhile since I posted. Family and other things have put a damper on my travels the last 6+ months.

I got the gift of a Vegas trip for my birthday and Christmas, so what did I do? Immediately book a trip for tomorrow

The gambling budget is a little smaller this time around so i'll be promo hunting to stretch things out a bit. I'm staying at Orleans and Main Street Station on comps but Saturday was a no go thanks to the the rodeo, I may have to pull an all nighter.

I'll try my best to give updates, but these live trip reports can sometimes be a little iffy.

Lots of video poker, and plenty of other gambling. Lots of football on Sunday if I can stay awake.

Hopefully I can meet up with a few VMBers. I'll be bringing my bracelet.

2 buses, light rail, another bus, waiting for the plane, followed by another 2 buses to Gold Coast. Small price to pay.

Uneventful flight. I grabbed the bus to Gold Coast Casino. I'm staying there tonight, then heading downtown. First stop after checking in is the Palms for some video poker. I played half and half ddb and 2s wild. If I would've stuck to ddb it would've been a winning night. Regardless I played a long time on a hundred bucks. Glanced at the new hooters bar but it looked pretty typical for a vp bar. Only half the bar has VP. I'll check the pay tables tomorrow if anyone is curious. A half night of sleep the night before so this is going to be a short night. Heading downtown tomorrow.

I wouldn't mind a bartop check of course. Neither my gf or I like palms very much and haven't been there since Dec. 2012! PM me or post what you find in the bartop sticky if you don't want it to detract from the TR.

I went to the Palms to grab breakfast at the buffet, but I forgot to read the small print on the promo. It was good Tuesday and Thursday but not Wednesday? Anyway, went to check on the Hooters bar - the whole thing was roped off and the machines were turned off. It looks like they close it down in the morning. Sorry Tringlomane.

I decided to give the DDB a last go. Good decision - picture above. I'm now a little ahead. From there I decided to grab breakfast at the Gold Coast buffet. They gave me the Emerald discount even though my Emerald card expired two days ago. 3 bucks worth of points for breakfast. It was cold, but edible. That beats a last minute breakfast buffet of to long under the heat lamp items any day. Time to pack up and head downtown.

 

No biggie. Makes sense it's all closed if the restaurant is. Not like Palms is a hopping place. Eventually I, or someone else will get there.

And that hit looks much better than quints! Keep them up!

 

Well gambling has been a real bitch... Losing sucks, but what sucks a lot worse is not even getting any play time for your money. At least I was able to get a little play time in at the bar last night. They always treat me well at the boar's head bar at mss. I got sucked in by a progressive vp machine that was sky high. 2 4oaks since yesterday morning. I'm going to watch football tonight and try to minimize the gambling tomorrow. I need to save what's left for Saturday. Here's a picture of Fremont last night. Crazy busy due to the rodeo being in town. I couldn't even walk though it. Had to turn around and take Ogden.
