Will be in Vegas for a birthday and want to acquire a coconut cream pie as the birthday cake.
Is there a place on the strip that makes this type of pie and what about delivery to a hotel on the strip?

This may sound somewhat downscale, but Jerry's Nugget has, at their restaurant, the old "revolving pies" display with HUGE slices of high pies and cakes and I'm sure they have cocoanut creme in there. I'm sure they will sell the pies whole if you ask.

I stop a Jerry's each trip to use my match play coupon and drool over the "revolving pies", but have never tried them. They sure look good. Jerry's is about 1 mile North of downtown on Las Vegas Boulevard ("the strip").

I haven't been by in years -- and I'm pretty sure they moved -- but Freed's Bakery seems to have been the LV standard for some time. As for the "best," I'm not sure anyone can answer that unless he or she has eaten all across Vegas bakerydom.

How about the Deli place at Mirage. Everytime we walk by and see the MASSIVE deserts on display, we think how a slice could make a meal.

On a not so helpful note - if ever in Tahoe, Harrahs (or is Harveys) has an awesome coconut pie at the buffet on the top floor. Always make it point to get some of that.

    The best? Gilligan's Island.
They ate that stuff for three years and never got tired of it.

    Probably not too helpful, so......
