We are coming to Vegas the 2nd week of feb 16 with some friends that have never been there. We arrive on Monday and leaving on Friday. They want to see Fremont street and we are hoping there will be some free bands playing. But we have heard or read somewhere that the bands only play on the weekends. Does anyone know if that is true or not?

Here's a link to the bands/stage performers on Fremont Street. There are bands that play during the week, just not as many as on the weekends.

    I'm headed up there tonight.

You are welcome. I hope you enjoy Fremont Street as much as I do. It's got a great vibe.

My favorite places to watch the bands are from Bennion's "Whisky Licker Bar" patio next to the 1st Street Stage. It's got an outside bar right next to it and excellent sight lines to the stage. The other place I like (and prefer) is the 4Queens patio next to the 3rd Street Stage. It's got full cocktail service - no waiting in lines at the bar. And, like Bennion's, has commanding stage views.

The calendar on their website for my upcoming trip didn't get updated until this week. I was watching it every few days driving myself crazy to see if anything was happening that week or not.

    You are welcome.

If the calendar needs an update, a "heads up" email to the site adm usually takes care of the matter within a day.

If classic rock is your thing then check out "Yellow Brick Road". They usually play on Thursday nights at the 1st Street Stage, next to Binions. They're one helluva classic rock and roll tribute band, and usually play a full three hours.
