    My Trip Report

I have enjoyed reading this message board for years ~ the people, the trip reports, the gambling ~ all of it! I've only just recently started posting though. Figured it was time to join in on the fun. That being said, I love Vegas ... anything and everything that is even remotely related to Vegas! I wasn't planning on doing a trip report because let's face it, it's hard to follow after such classics ~ Packer, beejay, VegasChic, Tbone etc. but I'm going to give it a shot.

I made my Vegas virgin trip in 2006 as a tag along with my aunt who has been coming to LV since the early 70's and it was love at first sight! This is trip #33 for me and my 4th this year. Addict? Some think so but I could care less. As some have pointed out in the past, people go to Disney or the beach repeatedly. Me, I do Vegas. Early on trips were with a variety of people, hubby, sister, friends, mother-in-law (hey, don't judge! I'm a Vegas whore, I'd go with anyone, lol). Somewhere along the line, I did a solo trip. Hello ... can you say heaven??!! Love, love , love my solo trips! I'm way beyond bringing people out now and playing tour guide. When I go to Vegas, I want to do my own thing which generally involves hours of slots, sometimes a show, sometimes a spa treatment. It's all about me [emoji5] Anyhow, moving on ...

So hubby and I were out for 6 days in September to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and his birthday. Awesome, relaxing trip! Was actually depressed when we got home The only thing pulling me through was knowing that I was coming back in November. This current trip was actually booked in June. Didn't mention it to the husband until we returned in September. Oops **disclaimer** I am married to an incredible guy who understands my need to feed my Vegas hunger. He was good with it even though he would be left behind holding down the fort.

    So, trip #33 ~

Traveling with our oldest son, R. This is his 4th trip. He's 22 (turning 23 in 3 weeks). Took him to Vegas with our middle son when they were 16 & 13. Trip 2 was for his 21st birthday ~ we came in the day before so he was there at midnight to bring in the big 2-1. His 3rd trip was on his birthday last year. He is his mama's son ... loves to gamble (within his means!), have some drinks and take in all Vegas has to offer. Some think that this is not the best trait to pass down to ones children. I personally could care less what others say! I love the fact that we can hang out and enjoy Vegas together. Don't get me wrong though, I am STILL mom and act like it most times!

Sorry about the novella ~ this is helping pass the 4.5 hour flight!

Staying at the Venetian 4 nights. Been Platinum with them for the last 3 years. Am also Diamond with CET but spend most of my time at V/P when in Vegas. Have an awesome host who takes excellent care of me. Keeps me happy and that's the way it should be.

    Plans:

-Thanksgiving dinner this afternoon at Buddy V's. Was going to pass after reading Tbone's TR but decided to give it a shot.

-Rock of Ages Friday night. Took R for his 21st and he loved it. I've seen it several times but wanted to see it once more before it leaves the Venetian.

-Meeting a friend from college that I haven't seen in 25 years. She's out this weekend too. Drinks sometime tonight, place tbd.

-Buckeyes/Michigan game, not sure where yet. Was going to go to Lagasse Stadium but not sure I want to with a 9am start time. Play that one by ear.

-VMB meet Saturday at Cosmo with Kimsa70 and a few others from the board. Kinda hoping to meet bronchofan too [emoji5]. He is a legend! Did I also read that natedogg and pp are in town?? VMB royalty.

-Pick up my gift cards that I "earned" this year from the Grazie Gifts event (I don't even want to think about how much I spent to get them [emoji15])

And of course the main event ... SLOTS, SLOTS and more SLOTS. I'm a slot whore. I know it's crap but I love getting lost in those slots. No worries just me, my slots and a cocktail. Life is good.

It's been a while since I've had a winning trip but let's face it, I come to Vegas for the entertainment and to be pampered. With a husband and three sons at home, mama needs her "ME" time!

Looking forward to sharing some slot porn with everyone and hopefully a hand pay or two! Only an hour and a half until touchdown!

love, Love LOVE this TR already!! Sounds like we do Vegas much the same way, and for all the same reasons!!!

We just came back from Vegas- I did mean to stop by the bakery across from Buddy V's- noticed it had a HUGE line the previous trip. Being the lemming that I am, meant to check it out so I understand your interest in Buddy V's despite the bad reviews! Hope it works out for you!

Sounds like you have a fantastic trip lined up- thanks for taking us along!

    Good luck!!

Looking forward to the TR. I can recommend the meat and cheese board at Buddy V's. Avoid the meatballs, they are not as good as they make it seam. Happy Thanksgiving!

I can see this is going to be harder than I thought, lol.

Landed and had a call from Doug, the limo driver from the Venetian. Nice touch! Quickly got our bags and off to the hotel. Room wasn't quite ready so off to the Grand Lux for breakfast. Two deluxe breakfast sandwiches, two screwdrivers for R and a peach Bellini for me, $56.21 + tip. Side note ~ since our room wasn't ready, Olivia from VIP check-in gave me her card and told me to have her called if we did a room charge. I think they "temporarily" charged it to another room and then moved the charge then to our assigned room once we had it. Excellent customer service from Olivia!

Dropped a quick $200 between Top Gun, Sons of Anarchy and Gremlins. Biggest win $37 [emoji15]. R went to play blackjack. Started with $50 and came back with this. [IMG]

Go figure, I'm down and the kid is up!

Olivia called, room was ready and up we went. Bags were brought up and I unpacked and hung up my things. I always always always unpack! Makes me feel more at home. The young one is currently taking a nap and I am heading downstairs to play. His 3 drinks (one on the plane) must have made him more sleepy than my 2, lol. He's not as seasoned as I am, getting only 2 hours of sleep and hitting Vegas running [emoji41]

Here's to making up for the earlier loss ... my slots are calling!!

9pm and I'm up in the room for the night. Was just an awful awful day of play to say the least! Went through my bank roll and didn't win shit. Put 1/2 the amount of points on that I would normally on any given day. Didn't matter what I played, pennies, nickels, dollars ~ it was just a drain. Not much to show, even low rolling didn't produce many wins. [IMG]
Pathetic best win of the day [emoji34]
And this bonus retriggered twice for a total of 65 spins. At a $2 bet, a $130 win would have been decent. I won a whopping $59!

The day was not a complete loss. R and I met up with my friend from college and we had an absolute blast! Met over at Casino Royale. R played $5 blackjack for a couple hours and ended up even. I didn't play anything, just hung out with friends from a long time ago and had some drinks. And shots. Good times.

The combination of only having 2 hours of sleep and too much alcohol today plus the lack of wins has me in bed earlier than I've ever been in Vegas. I need a good nights rest and I'll be good to go tomorrow!

Slept like a rock until 4:30am ... 7 1/2 hours of sleep in Vegas??!! Unheard of!!

Dozed off again until 6. Apparently my lack of sleep the night before, along with an abundance of fireball shots and cocktails yesterday brought on a bit of snoring according to R. It's been a good number of years since his travel baseball days when he and I shared a hotel room. I told him I don't snore! He disagrees. My pounding head may be the deciding vote on the snoring/no snoring issue.

Two Advil and water consumed and we headed down for breakfast. Grand Lux again. He loves it there and it's convienent. I then proceeded to start playing. Or should I say donating ... losing ... being crushed by the slot gods ... smh, I couldn't hit a thing. Once again, didn't matter what I played. Any good slot whore knows you don't quit because that next spin might be THE ONE! Wrong again! Proceeded to lose not quite 1/2 of today's BR. WTF???!!! It was 9:30 in the morning!!

Went up to the room. Called the husband. He feels real bad for me ... NOT! Remember, I left him at home and brought the son instead. Bad karma apparently. So says he. I think he enjoyed it a little more than he let on. I'm being sarcastic of course and looking for any and all reasons why it's been so bad ... There HAS to be some reason, right??

We decided to change the atmosphere. Went over to Harrah's and the Linq. No Bueno! Decided to grab some lunch at Toby Keith's Bar and Grill. Again, R loves the place and has a thing for their chicken tenders. I know, I know, believe it or not, he does appreciate finer meals. For whatever reason, when he comes to Vegas, the little kid in him pops out once in a while. Lunch was $51 + tip. Paid with total rewards credits.

The do serve big potions and he didn't finish some of his lunch. As we're walking out he says to me "I should have gotten a box and taken that left over food to one of the homeless guys". Immediately I tell him he should have. That may turn the bad slot mojo around for me!! He looks at me like I have 3 heads and says he doesn't feel that 2 chicken tenders and 12 french fries is going to change my luck. I can laugh about it now but it didn't seem unreasonable at the time.

So R decides he's going back into Casino Royale to play $5 blackjack again. He was holding his own for the day. I head back into the dark abyss of the Venetian casino. Throw more money at Sheldon and think about how much my free rooms, food, limos and show tickets are really costing me. This trip it feels like I've handed over my dignity. Maybe I could dress myself like the "girls" I saw trolling the casino floor at 6 this morning and make some of that money back, lol.

I head over to the box office to pick up my tickets for Rock of Ages. Yep, there they are, two comped tickets front row center $340. I figured I more than likely paid $3400 for them! In a strange way, I felt better. R is going to love it and I should be happier about making my kid happy. He's having a great time and I've been a Debbie downer. It's time to pull myself up from the gutters of slot whores and get my sh*t together!

I walk back into the Venetian and spot the Britney slots. I toyed around a bit yesterday there and decided I'm going to give it shot. Popped $100 in and spent the next hour with Miss Lip Sync herself! It was by far the longest I sat in one spot so far. I'm not ashamed to admit that I enjoyed listening to her auto-tune voice singing oops I did it again, toxic and hit me baby one more time. Britney pulled me out of that slot gutter and helped bring back some of that bankroll. Had plenty of smallish bonuses to keep me playing and I feel like I'm back in the game.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

R made it back with a nice little profit from his time next door. We grabbed something to drink and made our way back up to room. We decided to relax upstairs for a while and recharge so we can make it a true Friday night in Vegas ~ show, drinks and more gambling.

Thanks for following along and sending some good vibes. I'm going to amp up the game tonight and get that hand pay!!
