I'm sitting here in my room at MaBay and am completely content. It could be that I love MaBay or I'm lazing or I am in Vegas often enough.

I've only had one other trip like this, years ago at the Orleans. I stayed put. Didn't leave the property until I left for the airport. I am feeling the same way this trip. I arrived yesterday morning, I leave Wednesday and I don't feel like I am missing out. I don't feel like running and ripping all over the valley like I usually do. I had a list of eateries I wanted to try, a list of other casinos to drop some dollars in and have not moved. LOL!!

Anyone else had a "stay-put" trip?

(BTW, the remodeled rooms as MaBay are fantastic. The hallways are a bit dark with the navy blue walls, but I am loving the new décor overall. When I was here in June, the remodel process was just beginning.)

Coming in from the East Coast, I lose a day of my life in airplanes/airports traveling to and from Las Vegas. To make up for taking a day of my life, I stay in Las Vegas for 1-2 weeks. That would be a long time to sit in a hotel room. I live an hour from Atlantic City and often stay there for a night or two without leaving the property just for change of scenery. I think it's perfectly normal to have some trips that you just want to let your brain rest. No complicated thoughts of 'what to do now?' or 'where to eat'...just very limited decisions for the few days. A vacation as relaxing as a massage for the brain.

I really enjoy a stay once in a while at Bellagio where I never leave the hotel--for some reason that is the hotel I like to never leave, even though it is no longer my favorite. Excellent room service food and the presence of Le Cirque helps a lot with this

Sounds like an enviable trip to me. Have a blast. Win some dollars. Bring some home.

Part of me feels like I've failed in my vacationing if I didn't get out and see stuff, but I could see myself doing a stay put trip. I haven't exactly found a stay put hotel and that's the only deterrent. The Slverton is pretty darn close for me, though.

Short answer to your question is "yes, at least for part of the trip."

My Vegas trips are typically 7 to 9 days. My upcoming trip is "short" at 5 nights/6 days (Tuesday am to Sunday night). Some folks think 7 to 9 days is too long but I use my trips Vegas to not only gamble but also to truly relax. First day or so is crazy gambling but what makes the trip relaxing is doing what you described.

For this trip I have a couple of days where I am doing different things (Caesars, downtown, coupon run, other shows, etc.) but a full two days of my five-day trip is hanging at Wynncore entirely with the exception of about 90 minutes, and that's to see the Human Nature Holiday show at the Venetian, right next door. Indeed, my itinerary for those two days literally says at the top "Wynncore all day." I am eating there only, enjoying the Encore spa, playing there, walking around, window shopping there, etc. If I could have done the Human Nature show another day so as to not leave the property at all I would have but scheduling wise I am seeing shows on other days so it wouldn't have worked. I'll be playing a lot during those two days but because I am not running around during those two days it'll definitely be (at least I hope it will be/winning helps :)) relaxing.

Yes, One of our trips, at Encore, and just stayed there for 5 nights...did not leave the resort.
It was one of our most relaxing Vegas trips.

This I recommend once in a while for everyone.

One time when DH and I stayed at NYNY we ended up never leaving the property. On the ride back to the airport the driver was talking about the storms that had rolled thru the day before. DH and I just laughed. We didn't even realize it had rained.

I have done this before at the Palazzo. I flew in Friday morning, limo picked my up and dropped me at the hotel. I spent my time entirely between the V/P. Left Monday afternoon for the airport, never having stepped outside. The second time was in May this year, staying at the Venetian. Now that trip I made it a point to step outside on the second floor by Buddy V's restaurant and walk outside on the verandah to the doors that take you into the Canal Shoppes (I then made my way straight downstairs to the casino lol). I can at least say I got a few breaths of fresh air!

When I go to Vegas with my wife we like to go out and about to see shows, shop, and eat at interesting places.

But I have no problem "staying put" when I go solo. I just gamble anyway, and eat simply at coffee shops or buffets.

Although my home casino is the Cal Downtown, I can see myself "staying put" at the Orleans when solo since they have everything I would need, down to bowling and theaters in case I need a break from the tables.

I laughed when I read this message, I had a visual of me attempting to do this:

You would have to know me, but.... Absolutely no way this would be possible for me for two reasons:

    1) Way too ADHD for this.
    2) I love seeing everything Vegas has to offer, limiting myself to one property would not allow me to do this.

I love playing poker, but I can't even sit still at a poker table in Vegas. Part of the luster of LV is the variety of things to do, people to meet. To each their own, just not an option for me.

I've spent a weekend in Vegas without leaving the hotel, in fact I believe I've had at least one weekend where I never even stepped foot outside except for the cab ride to and from the airport.

That's not my usual pattern, but I have had trips where I never leave the hotel.

There were a few times when Terri was getting her MBA and we'd get to Vegas for a few days and she'd just hole up and sleep, order room service, watch movies and if really feeling motivated saunter down to the spa for a few hours.

I've kinda done that, spent days in the same resort, never leaving. What I've done more of, is never leaving the casino during day light hours and realizing later, we had spent the entire trip inside!

Never in Vegas...I go there TO see things; although in Reno, I've definitely went on 72 hour benders where I never left the inside of the casino.

I had one solo 3 night trip staying at Encore where I never left Wynncore. The luck was running well and everything I needed or wanted was right there.

I've stayed inside the Mirage for 3 or 4 days. On almost all my trips, unless for a show, I keep between Wynn/Core and Flamingo, rarely straying from that loop.

On Fremont, I very rarely stray from beneath the canopy. I have never seen Fremont East.

There are many trips that we will get to the hotel and never step outside until we are on our way back to the airport. (Usually happens when we stay at Bellagio or Wynn) We used to always walk down the strip to other casino's but I think after so many trips, we are content to stay put.

My very first trip to Vegas was with my wife in 1995, typical sight seeing, gambling touristy type trip. The next 10 or so trips were just my older brother and I. We would usually stay for 4 days. He went to Vegas for one thing and one thing only - to gamble. HIs job required him to travel a fair amount so when we Vegas'd all he wanted to do was stay put. We stayed at the Monte Carlo all but one of those trips. Of the 10ish trips, my brother left the hotel exactly once, and that was what turned out to be our last trip out together. They gave him free tickets for excellent seats to see Don Henley at the MGM and I talked him into using them. Since then, all my trips have been with the wife, and I have to admit, I enjoy getting around and seeing all the things there are to do and see much, much better. I look back now and wonder how in the world we stood all that time staying inside and in one place.
