Don't give up just yet. Last year on my Jan trip it was supposed to be 60's and wind the week before. Well, long story short it was in the 80's and I ended up buying shorts because I believed the forecast and didn't pack any.

Wifey and I will be in LV for Thanksgiving as well. Highs in the 50's will probably be 20 degrees warmer than at our home in SLC.

As I noted in another thread - get those reservations for dinner in.

Late November in the high desert you were very, very fortunate to get in the 80's. The exception, not the rule.

Yep, once that corner is turned in the desert, it's turned.

I once booked a Myrtle Beach golf trip for the second week of January. The average high daily temperature was historically in the 60's for that week. The year before it had been balmy 80 degrees that same week.

The week we went was daily highs ranging from 26 to 40. The 26 was lowest high temperature ever recorded in Myrtle Beach. There were icicles hanging from the palmettos. We soldiered on through high winds, rain and near freezing temperatures. By the end of the week the temperature rose to mid-50's but it was a torrential downpour, thus closing the courses. The only good thing that happened was that I made money playing 9-Ball in a local dive.

From the North Carolina line back to Maryland we drove through a snowstorm.

Moral of the story: Never go by what it was like last year.

I feel for ya Breeze! We have a small place in MB, and we've spent the last 5 or 6 Thanksgiving weekends there. We've had temperatures ranging from the low 30's all the way to the upper 80's. We also spend Christmas week there and have had low 80's for Christmas on at least one occasion. Nuttin's guaranteed
