I know I've seen this game downtown. (automated craps game with the dice in a bubble in the middle) Can anyone remember which casinos downtown have Bubble Craps?

    Thanks for the help!

I know some do. I know Four Queens has one. Binions has one. DTG should have one. I dont think the D has one, nor Golden Gate. Dont think the Boyd props have them. Not positive on Golden Nugget or Plaza.

Bubble Craps is a good way to play cheap once you have some basic knowledge and test your playing strategies. The BEST way to learn is really to watch a live game. I did that, then started copying some betting and talking to the players around me.

There are also some great you tube videos that teach basic craps strategy, staying away from the middle of the board and focusing on line bets, come bets, and place bets. Just search learn to play craps and several will come up.

I just love bubble craps for the shear easy flow of the game and the ability to kind of ignore what's happening. At a craps table, I really need to pay close attention. Not at bubble craps.

Yes! My recommendation...download one of the apps for your phone or iPad and learn some basic strategy. Then, once you get to Vegas give the bubble craps a shot. A craps table can be very intimidating, so this is a fun way to learn and play at the same time. Some time on the bubble craps machine will finally give you the confidence to try the real deal. Good luck!

I know four queens has one near the exit by the D, and I sat at one near Binion's Bullpen due to exhaustion. At El Cortez you need to be left a seat in your great uncle's will, it is pretty popular. Is it a good way to learn? I have taught about four people how to play at the table. The game is easy, the movement of money, chips and dice takes some practice. If you pull up beside me at a table and ask for some help I'll give you fifteen minutes. If you just let the dealer know that you need help you should get the same, but they will probably talk too fast. The free lessons the casinos offer in the morning are very simple, but the best way is to buy in at a table with no players in the early morning/afternoon and ask questions. What is the correct odds bet and how do I tip you are the best questions to ask. You only have to have the dice hit your hands about three times before that never happens again.

I would not recommend using this machine to learn, without learning basics on your own. That being said it is slower paced than table craps, and is a good place to get your feet wet.

I would rather play bubble craps over at an empty table. Cause everything goes even faster when you are alone.

If you're the only one at the table you control the pace of the game.

Another "upside" to bubble craps is that you do not have to bet the "correct" amounts to get your proper payout. For the novice that means like when placing the 6 or 8 you need to bet in increments of $6 at a table to get paid correctly as it pays 7 to 6. You could bet $3 on 8 and get paid $3.50 which won't happen in a live game where they'd pay you just $3 and you miss out on the 50 cents.

And don't forget PUSH THE BUTTON!!!!!!!!! COME ON!!!!!!

Not to hijack, but El Cortez pays right on their $3 table in a live game. But I keep hearing they rarely have that table at $3 now. Has anyone seen the elusive $3 table there lately?

I was at the El Cortez one afternoon in October and it was at $3 min but was changed to $5 a few minutes after I bought in. They are also the only place that uses .50 cent pieces for some pays.

another plus to bubble craps is you can bet the pass line and odds after the come out roll instead of before, but you still have to bet if you're the shooter. I had luck playing it at the El Cortez last week but not so much at Binion's (back by the sportsbook and bbq place)

It was $3 in late June, during the day... but everyone at the table was playing $5+.

Yet another reason I like it -- I can place 6 and 8 for $3 each and get paid correctly.

What is the typical minimum Pass/Don't Pass bet (or any other table section) for bubble craps? I've never noticed these games before.

I love craps and I used to play for hours at a time back in the day. But around the year 2000 I contracted what I call the "craps curse". If I put money on a table, it loses. It happens WITHOUT fail. If I even look at or touch a craps table it 7's out. It's almost scary. If I lived in Vegas I'd try to get a job as a cooler. I've amazed friends & family with this eerie ability.

I'm kinda hopeful that if these automated tables have limits as low as $1 or even 25 cents I might actually get to play again, for a little while at least, before my $20 gambling budget gets whittled away.
