MSS not what it used to be

Yes, the points awarded are much less on the full pay slant tops at MSS. Station full pay games are also on a much reduced point schedule as well, and the Palms gives you zero points on their full pay machines. Not sure about 4Q, but their row of upright 10-7 machines are seriously deficient - they either play really slow, or the screens are worn out and fuzzy, or some other malfunction occurs. They seriously need some new machines, but when that happens, the full pay will also probably disappear. The FP deuces at MSS have been gone for a long time now. Sams and the Stations are the only places I know where you can still find them.

 

Just back from my trip and I have to agree with OP on the VP thing at MSS.
Even thought they are still the same machines and same pay-tables, I just dumped my $1000 within a hour without hitting a single quad.
So I have to believe they tightened the machines. How they managed it, I don't know. But the machines are tight nonetheless.

 

The beers may be a little less exciting now that Craft Beer has really leapt ahead worldwide, but I still a Casino that makes its own beer is still pretty cool.
They are definitely worth $1.75 at the bar and they're pleasant with food.

 

You lost a grand, so they must have tightened the machines? If you were dealt a royal, the machines would be looser somehow?

Casinos can't "tighten" VP machines. They can adjust pay tables, which affects payback, but a 52 card deck is a 52 card deck. Payback differs, but the odds remain the same.

VP machines in Nevada are neither tight nor loose. They are exactly as their paytables describes them.

Was in MSS just a few weeks ago on a Saturday evening. Me and my buddies thoroughly enjoyed the food at 777, the beer, and the fantastic craps. still a great place in my book.

 

The way I understand it, there's no way the casino can make a machine tighter than what its pay table says it should be. The pay tables determine exactly what your return and variance should be. This means that every video poker machine tell you exactly how much the average player should expect to lose over time and what kind of runs they should expect to have. Casinos cannot set their machines different from what the pay tables indicate.

All machines in Vegas are subjected to rigorous testing by the Nevada State Gaming board. If theyre messing around with the machines, they not only get fined, but they open themselves up to huge class action law suits from all the gamblers they screw. Their reputation gets shot, no one would want to gamble at Boyd properties anymore, and they would lose their license. It would be an incredibly illogical decision on their part to tamper with the machines when in the long run they end up making money on them any way.

The Gaming Board randomly stops by, takes apart the machine and runs mathematical tests on the logic boards to see if they run the way their supposed to. They also check logs and stored data to see if the payouts are all within statistical probability. If they find anything fishy, them surely hammer them about it.

TL;DR - It's impossible for casinos to mess with machines, and losing a thousand dollars on a machine (especially if you're playing a highly volatile game like DDB) without hitting a quad is very much possible.

 

I don't know how they did it, but The Plaza has tightened their blackjack game. They have the same rules that they did before of course, but I lost $500, so I am pretty sure they have tightened up that game.

If you actually believe this and aren't just trolling, then I have to ask: why on earth do you still play? If you're convinced they are routinely (illegally) rigging the game...why keep giving them your money?
