    My Trip Report

Sleep Tight, Don't Let the Bedbugs Bite! (a Trip Report- Oct 2015)

    Bally's, Plaza, and the D

That is a lovely sentiment, as long as there is no possibility of it being true.
    But more about that later....

    I am Blonde4ever, soon to be Gray4ever.
I have lost track of what number trip this is and I am too lazy to count, but suffice it to say this is my umpteenth.
I have been retired now for a year and while the rest has been good for my ouchy body,
    I have been bored senseless.
This makes my Vegas trips even more exciting than usual to me because I am finally out of the house and doing something!
    Yay!

If you have been paying attention at all you know that my frequent traveling partner is Kodidog and she joined me again on this trip.
This is our fourth trip together and we have got being roommates down to an art. Who would have thought that an internet forum would provide me with a fast friend and an awesome traveling partner?

(P.S. I swear I did not touch the thermostat this time except to turn on the fan!)

Enjoyed your trip report! I think it's wonderful that you and Kodidog are great Vegas travel partners.

Isn't it the best when you win enough to fund your next Vegas trip? ( I haven't been able to....yet, LOL!)

Well, at least you tried some oxtail stew and loco moco. I guess it's not for everyone but at least you were game and tried it!

Thanks again! I also enjoyed the pictures!

Btw, as another poster mentioned, was Mr. Flusher in the group picture?

Yes! I did some adventurous eating this time. Loco Moco, Oxtail and In and Out.
The only one I would repeat is In and Out...lol.

I too want to see a good pic of Flusher...LOL Whomever said not to use showtime was so wrong...LOL I have never had a bad experience with them and the price is good. The only thing i didn't like was the fact that we got dropped off last at the EL Co on our last trip,so it felt like we spent hours on that bus.

I am considering lyft, but I don't like to use or even turn on my cellphone in the States. I see you used wifi to contact them. Is it easy to use that method? The little bit I read on their site said they use text messaging for contact purposes. Silly question.... but I am technology illiterate...can a person text via wifi instead of the cell waves.

I was confused about how all this would work as well.
I did not know if they would try and contact you through the app itself or on a phone.
It was through the phone as it turns out.

I had an IPad and a cheap flip phone.
Not the equipment most people would be using.

It was an easy thing to download the app into the IPad and set up an account.
The only issue with an iPad is that it is larger and heavier than a phone.

I connected with the free lobby wifi at Ballys and Harrah's.
I had a moment of confusion when I first went to call them and I had not.
If you don't see " a driver is being chosen for you" and their name, picture and car appear, then you haven't contacted them.

They like to call you on your cell phone to pinpoint exactly where you are standing. The first time I did this I didn't realize and had my cell phone in my purse and I couldn't hear it. The driver still found us though, without that contact.
Later, when I checked my phone and saw the missed calls, I realized what had happened. From then on I held my phone in my hand after I summoned them so I didn't miss anymore calls.

None of the drivers attempted to text my cellphone.
