    My Trip Report

I've been on the board for years, and have posted details of previous trips, but never a full TR - this just might be the first.
With 1 and 3-yr old boys, the Vegas trips have obviously been fewer and further between.
    Pre-trip details:
I had some SW credits that will expire at the end of the month, so I somehow convinced the wife to let me take a short trip.
Partner in crime: my buddy T, also with 2 little ones, late 30's, but is flying out from OC.
Since my status has obviously lapsed, I turned to MyVegas and have the following:
    • Weeknight room comp
    • Two lunch buffets
    • $30 credit to Heritage Steak
Though T is leaning towards Del Frisco's, so the last one may go unused, or we may swap it out.
Interesting note was that I looked up TR and booked Linq on a comp, in case anyone else wanted to come along, but canceled it yesterday.

BR: $5k (my previous average was about $2k for a weekend), going a little bigger since I don't know when the next trip may be...will be mostly BJ and craps, with a few sports bets sprinkled in possibly. Additionally, what sold the trip was a ticket from the previous SB - a $100 parlay on my Pats and the over - it's pretty faded, so hopefully they will let me redeem it...

Fly in Sunday morning, and plan to stop by the Centurion lounge for a snack lunch (mostly liquid ) to get started. I also have some SW drink coupons that expired last week, and have read here that they might honor them if I ask nicely...
T arrives at 1pm so we will Lyft to Mirage then (anyone have any issues at McCarran?)

    Goals:
    • Avoid incarceration
    • WIN
    • WIN BIG (5-figures, enough for a down payment for a Model S - I would then turn to Packer, though he probably can't help since you order those direct)
    Fly out Monday night.
You can thank TBone for inspiring me to do this, as you all know his TR was outstanding!

Testing Tapatalk - this is a little confusing...I thought it was a separate account, but when I post it looks like it is one and the same...hmm.

Best of luck! I just left Mirage! Just don't play the slots there and you'll do fine!

First minor setback - my buddy had that parlay ticket, as he went to Vegas last month...but forgot to bring it. We missed meeting up this weekend, so I guess I need to book another trip before it expires!
    Maybe not such a setback...

A lot of traffic going to the airport, but in the terminal, almost no line. Through pre in about 2 minutes.

A lot of construction still in LAX Terminal 1, though the signs say "arriving dec '15"

Terminal 10 is now where the old US Air lounge was (RIP, both the lounge and the airline) but on the plus side there are power and USB outlets at every seat

    Second minor setback:
    I FORGOT MY VMB WRISTBAND!
I'll look out for others who were not as forgetful...

Another SW tip: scan the self-check-in kiosks for discarded drink tickets from flyers who are on Business Select but don't take the drink ticket...I scored one in case my expired vouchers don't get accepted...

I ended up using the drink ticket from the kiosk, but asked my flight attendant if she would've taken my expired coupon, and she said yes and advised me to hold on to them, though she did advise it would be hit and miss.

General advice is to ask really nicely. So, when I get back, I'll be happy to drop them in he mail for anyone that wants to give it a shot (there are 4)

Redeemed for a Bloody Mary + free wifi to catch some mediocre football (hey, that's generous)
