It's almost go time. We leave Sunday for 5 nights.
My last trip was for the Superbowl (thanks Malcolm) and as most people know things change rapidly.
The best $50 2d and 6d games I found then were at Aria, MGM, hi-limit room in NYNY and the "hi-limit" area at Ballys.
I've heard the MGM properties has seriously down-graded their offerings. Is this true?
Where can I find the best $50 games on the strip?
I'll be spending one night downtown so I'll probably play a session there. Who are now offering the best downtown games?
    Thanks.

The games at the MGM properties are the same. Same tables, same rules as this past February. The limits, obviously, vary depending on the day and time. But I have seen $50 tables with the good rules you're looking for at both MGM Grand and Aria. The NYNY high limit is sometimes at $50 as well, but it is often times closed during the day

    Thanks UK.
Glad to hear MGM still deals a decent game.

I just returned from Aria. There are still plenty of S17 DD and 6D tables. Most are $100 but $50 can be found as well. During the day, you shouldn’t have any problem getting on a $50 six decker and if it isn’t really busy, there will probably be one or two DD games as well. At night, it’ll be harder. This past Friday and Saturday there weren’t any of those tables at $50 after dinner time. But on Sunday and Monday, there were a few 6D games and occasionally a DD game as well.

Downtown the best games are at the El cortez which has the only single deck 3-2 game left in Vegas. they also have a good double deck game. But, you can find double deck 3-2 games all over downtown. Avoid Binion's and 4 Queens as they have a lot of 6-5.

This was my experience as well about two weeks ago. I regularly found DD games at $50 during the day, including some S17; at night, there were almost always $50 6D games, but all H17. What amazed me was seeing full tables of $25 CSM 6:5 directly across the pit from almost-empty $25 6D 3:2 tables.

For downtown, since you're playing $50/hand, I would suggest the Golden Gate "high limit salon".
    It's a two-deck shoe, 3:2, H17, DAS permitted...they cut away about a third...$25 min.
Plaza has the exact same game... 'theD' has it at $50 min... El Cortez has it at $5 min.

You will have the easiest time (and GREAT cocktail service) at the Golden Gate... very few other players at that table. There's never been more than 2 other players when I've played it... makes for an easier 'tracking' situation, as well as no 'elbow-to-elbow' conditions.
The El Cortez tables are often full, & Ive never played the table at 'theD', so I cannot speak to that.
The Plaza table is also fine, so that's something to consider as well, but their cocktail service is sorely lacking.
    Good luck!

I can also confirm Aria two weeks ago still had S17 DD and 6D for $50-$100 and H17 6D for $25-50, all on the main floor. Mirage had similar games when I was there in April.

The games to avoid at Aria are the CSM games. Accidentally sat at one thinking that because it was $25 it was 3-2, but then I got a blackjack and dealer was showing an Ace and he asked if I wanted even money. I said no, and he said it was better to take even money when playing 6-5. I looked down and the felt said 6-5, which I hadn't noticed. After the hand I thanked the dealer and colored up and went to the other pit and played the S17 DD for $50.

Yeah, I guess it's their small way of not completely screwing the player? haha. I heard on "You Can Bet on That" podcast that some other casinos will also offer even money on 6/5. Which, if you're playing 6/5, you should take... then go find a 3/2 table!

Bally's still has $50 6D S17 day and night in the quasi high limit area. The 2D is also $50 but with poor rules.

I stopped by Friday night. There was 1 $25, 6d, s17, ras, in the high limit at Bally's. There was 1 person playing. I asked the pit boss and he said it was normally $25.

    Thanks for the update guys.
Our first two nights are at Paris so I'll start with the six decker at Ballys then go form there.
Here's hoping for aces & faces next week!
