    My Trip Report

We hadn't been to Vegas in over a year because our daughter got married in April and that was putting a bit of a dent in the bank account. So after recovering from that, my bride and I went to AZ for 7 days to visit my brother and her Mom and then on to Vegas for 5 days at our favorite place on the planet.

The Encore rooms all have new carpet and a technology refresh that gives you touch screen control from your bedside of the lights (on/off or low), the AC and heat and the curtains and sheers. They always had a box with buttons but the touch screen is nice and the AC control is new. The curtains and sheers were also re-worked so they are totally silent when then open or close. Host comp'd all 4 nights.

We spend a lot of time at the Lobby Bar as we eat light and frequently rather than big heavy meals so we'd stop in all the time for a drink and some food. If you've never gone in there, they have a lot of really tasty small plate type offerings. We also ate at Society Café and Allegro and La Cave over at Wynn. We sat outside at La Cave at about 10 pm overlooking the Wynn pool complex all lit up and the temperature was absolutely perfect. Food was excellent as it always is at Wynncore.

Went to the pool only one day but the weather was beautiful for late Oct (low 80's) and you could've gone every day.

We saw Show Stoppers too. Pretty good show but I imagine if you were a big show/musical person, you'd recognize more of the songs and probably really love the show. We still enjoyed it and out host picked up the tickets so it's pretty hard not to have a good time.

Gambling was good this trip. They were doing a daily slot tournament where you would register at the Red Card desk every morning and all you had to do was put at least 500 points on your card that day and you were good to play. It only took about 15 minutes and play times were from 4 to the last one which was usually about 5 or 5:15. They had one session every 15 minutes depending on how many signed up. You could win free play for your session and then if you were the high score for the day, you're win could carry over to the Tournament list and actually win there again with the same score. There was no guarantee if you were 1st or 2nd in your session that your score would hold to be 1st or 2nd in the Tournament because somebody in another Session round could beat your score. As luck would have it, Tuesday I won 2nd place for the Session and Tournament for a total of $1,075 in free play ($75 prize for the session and $1,000 prize for the Tournament) and then my bride turned around and did the exact same thing on Wednesday. We both played our free play in the HL room at Wynn and played $5 VP and both turned it into over $1,200 and cashed out. Wednesday morning we were having coffee and playing some VP at Encore and I was dealt 4 to the RF. This seems to happen more often than most that don't play VP would probably think and usually doesn't fill in. But this time.... IMG_5925.jpeg

Overall, our play usually just covers the room but my wife played more $1 VP this time and the host also picked up a few hundred off of our food bill and we came with $4K to play with and went home with $7K. Not a Shifter or Nate level trip but for our gambling budget it was a good trip and we had a lot of fun. We got a good buzz going one night and sat and played $1 WOF at Wynn. The game was $9 max best and paid 9 ways. We both hit for over $800 each and were laughing our ass off and screaming like you hear all those young girls doing when they hit a $20 win. It's always fun when you can act like a goof ball in Vegas....makes me feel young again:drunk: We went back the next morning and both ran $200 through and hit nothing....I'm pretty sure the problem was we were sober that time:poke:

We used the Presidential airport RT and it was flawless as always. If you haven't done it, give it a try. Very nice and stress free way to arrive and depart Vegas. We rented the sedan since it was just two of us but sometimes if the sedan is busy you'll get a larger vehicle at no add'l charge. They came in the sedan on our pick up and the Escalade on our departure.

I love it when you win and get that "I love Vegas" feeling....

Very nice hit on the Royal Flush. I'm still waiting to get one. Hey a win is a win. Great job I like the encore rooms since they are larger than the Wynn side but the walk over there and back is far.

I just missed you as I left when you came in.

Congrats on a winning trip. You almost doubled your bankroll so a return trip may be in order. You can't afford not to go. I was staying at Wynncore regularly for a few years but haven't stayed in a couple years. Time to head back; I always enjoyed my stays there and had my best luck at Wynn on my May trip.

So nice to see that Royal fill in!!

Now that's how to do Vegas! You had fun and were laughing, that's priceless. Congrats on the royal and I hope you are back to Vegas before a year this time. Thank you for the tr.
How was the staff? check in, valet and overall service?
I'm sure great.. Did you eat at SW? They did a big remodel and wondering how it looks?

    Thanks Gang!

Breanna, you need to go back....there's no place like Wynn IMO. Service, cleanliness and all around resort experience just doesn't get any better.

Kind of a fun note....We were sitting at the Lobby Bar one evening having a couple of glasses of wine and some small plates and people watching out over the casino. Who should come strolling by but Steve himself with his new bride on his arm. He was smoking a cigar and they were laughing like young lovers....LOL My guess is they just had dinner at Sinatra from the direction they were coming from. Oh yea.....there were two "suits" following closely behind. You gotta love Vegas. I'm personally a fan of Steve Wynn and the way he makes his hotels such fun and magical places for adults. It'll be a sad day for Las Vegas whenever he passes on.

Good stuff, Dino! Congrats on the wins - two slot tourney hits and a royal? Nice. :nworthy:

I really gotta quit reading all these Wynncore reports right before a non-Wynncore trip, though! Having a hard time not making the switch. :nono:

Sounds like a fun trip plus making money is always great. I'm getting a 3 night comp Dec 5 at Wynn but they're telling me it may be booked ~ sending me to Encore instead. I remember the last time I stayed at Encore the clubs were alot noisier than Wynn (why I always stay at Wynn). My host told me I can get into Wynn if I want to. Did you have a noise issue at Encore? At least there probably won't be any pool parties that weekend!
How did you like Michael Monge at the Eastside Bar at Encore?

Sounds like a great trip and good for you on the gambling wins. I'm jealous of the Steve Wynn sighting.

I'm also a Wynncore fan even though I'm a low roller. I do like to spend money on food though. I also think that a great room and property are worth paying for. So I'd rather hold off on a trip if I couldn't stay there.

Carve it's an easy solution......just make the switch!!:poke:

Mansam - the EBC pool parties are done for the season and when we were there for M-Thur nights, Surrender was the only club that ever opened and that was just one night. We were on the 51st floor and I never heard a sound. Monge is a great addition to the Encore experience, the guy is a great singer and entertainer and had a drink in his hand most of the time......just like Dino always did on his TV show:nworthy:

Sounds like a great trip. Dean, 1 year is just too long away from your favorite place. Step it up, man.

Joe...as a matter of fact, I'm looking at the current SW sale to go back in January. We're not as into the pool time as we used to be since my wife had a melanoma scare and in Oct, we really liked the fact that the clubs are not nearly as booming as they are in the summer and the beach/pool clubs are shut down too.
