We stayed there last April and loved it. Got upgraded to an executive suite on the top floor. Can't beat the location.
Just got back from Harrah's and i loved it. The location is great. I had booked the cheapest room and tried the $20 trick. It was a busy weekend so not much they could do for me. .however, the woman at the front desk was very friendly. Ended up in a mardi gras room above the pool.. decent view of part of thestrip and the High Roller. I like that you dont have to walk very far to get to the elevators. The elevators themselves were the best i have experienced.i never had to wait for an elevator. Everytime i pushed the button an elevator would be available . The location is also great..close to the linq promenade. I had a good time at the carnaval court bar as well.
Have stayed there 3 times and my wife and I have enjoyed there. I did the Vegas strip view once and it was not a real strip view IMHO. Some people have a preference on the tower and I wish I could remember which one was supposedly better but no complaints here.
I've stayed there several times and never had any issues. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and it's a good option for someone trying to keep room costs down. We stay more at Bally's now mainly due to location, but Harrah's is a good mid range property. Carnaval Court can be a lot of fun, and with the new Linq nearby, there are plenty of good dining options without going too far.
It was our first time staying there. I think it was $43 per night for the upgrade. Well worth the price.
Stayed at Harrah's last trip, really enjoyed location, rooms are decent, we got upgraded to a suite in Carnaval tower, very nice and clean, just a little dated.
Standard rooms are clean and basic. I used to get room rates in the $25-$60 range based on time of year. Now I get comped. Location is virtually unbeatable. Casino is small with low ceiling, but employees are friendly and you can find low minimum tables pretty easily.
How does Harrah's compare to Bally's when it comes to smoke? We stayed at Bally's last year and the smoke on the casino floor was just as bad as the Gold Coast. I have a comp high roller view room booked but I'm just not sure about staying there.
I love Harrah's. If you have a car and like to go places every day then I recommend asking for a Mardi Gras room all the way at the end of the hall right near the Carnival Tower. The two towers connect on each floor right near the Carnival Tower elevators. So, when you leave your room you can walk towards the Mardi Gras elevators and take them down right to the middle of the casino or walk the other way towards the Carnival Elevators just past your room and take them down to the reception desk and parking lot. Sooo convenient. This room is a little larger than a regular room and has a strange layout with a huge pillar in the middle of it. Bizarre shape as it's the last room where the two towers connect into each other. It's my favorite room at the property...unless you pull a suite.
We have stayed at Harrah's twice, prefer the Carnival Tower, and had no complaints. The location is great.
Ask for a room not on the Carnival court side. unless you don't mind hearing the thump of music till 2 pm.
I did find the casino floor at Harrahs pretty smoky, so if that's a major deal breaker it may not be the best option. We stay at Bally's quite a bit and while it's smokey it doesn't seem quite as bad.
I like the Mardi Gras Tower because you can step out to smoke if your spouse prefers a nonsmokng room.
I'll be staying at Harrah's for the first time next week - can anyone recommend one tower over the other or know if any rooms have been renovated, at least enough to make a difference between the other options? I plan on doing the $20 tip at check-in, would I get anything noteworthy asking for an updated room with a view or should I ask for a specific tower/floor?
I think Harrah's is on the re-do list. Any renos would be several years old. I saw a pic of what rooms were supposed to look like, however I haven't spotted that any had started yet. I experienced a room over CC - I knew better but the people in our mini-suite were refusing to leave! It was already 4:30 in the afternoon and they still were not even out of the room, let alone time for room to be cleaned lol! It was one night & I figured I could handle it. But it was so loud. I didn't sleep more than 2 hours. So my recommendation would be to request anything not facing CC. Last stay all internet was still wired. Not sure if that has been changed to WiFi yet or if they are waiting until remodel. With a lower floor you can probably pick up the free lobby wifi & hang onto it up to room now though.
