    Need to resolve a bet.

A fella is sitting at HL slots at Caesars playing DSTP 5 handed. Pulls 4 to a royal with a 10x multiplier. Properly holds the four to a royal.

What are the odds of at least one royal flush?

The probability of NO royals out of five is 46 "bricks"/47 cards remaining taken to the 5th power.

    (46/47)^5 = 0.8980486591

So the probability of at least one royal is just one minus this.

    1 - 0.8980486591 = 0.1019513409 = 10.2% = 1 in 9.81

    Did he actually pull one?

It involved a true royal, monopoly money, caveman drawings and eye makeup.

    That's all I say.

Lets just say, regardless of the Royal hitting or not, and regardless who the winner of the bet was, there is a handy involved!

More sickening that you should brick that (46/47)^50 = 34.12% of the time. And 11.64% to brick 100 in a row. Lots of frustration on the way finding that miracle hand, unless you're just naturally lucky of course. ;)

Was once playing 100 hand nickle denom DDB at PH, got dealt JQKA suited, bricked on all 100 hands, not 1 royal. A little while later I switched to 50 play and again got dealt 4 to the royal, again missed on all 50 hands. My friend sitting next to me confirmed I had bad luck and I haven't played 50 or 100 play since.
