Snowglobes

Wife and I took Baby A out to Vegas last summer and we stayed at Venetian, where we found a really cool snowglobe in one of the giftshops. We also got a really nice one at Caesar's as well, both were right around $20, so they aren't the cheap ones you find. Here is the one we bought at Venetian.



Enough back story, are there any other places in town that have nice snowglobes like this? We're coming back in June/July next year and looking to add to Baby A's collection.

I think you'd have a tougher time finding a store that doesn't sell snow globes vs ones that do.

 

Agree with you there, we found a TON of the small, plastic ones that looked cheap. I think I meant higher-quality ones. Maybe everyone has them, I could be looking at this the wrong way.

 

Yeah, what she said! We pick up really nice ones at Venetian ($19) and Caesar's ($28) that are HIGH QUALITY, big and heavy snowglobes. My daughter loves them. We're hoping to head to as many gift shops in town as possible next June/July and hopefully we can snag some more.

 

I was in the gift shop in Paris(close to the pai gow tables) last week. They had a variety of solid/heavy snow globes.

 

An FYI for anyone following this thread. The TSA considers snow globes as water so if they have more that 3.3 ounces of water they can't go thru carry on. Smaller than that and they need to go into your quart size liquid bag. I know they enforce the first restriction, but not sure about the last part.

 

Try Lost Vegas Antiques. Lots of vintage casino memorabilia there. Even if you don't find what you're looking for it is a great way to see a great sampling of las Vegas' past.

This is a good point. We drive out west every year from Michigan.

It can be lengthy, but we stop and see family in Wyoming and Minnesota on the trip as well. Being a local sports reporter, the only time I can ever take vacation is in the summer time, so I often wrap 10 "vacation days" around some weekends and take 16-17 days off from work.

 

This is a good idea. I do love memorabilia, hopefully we can find some good stuff, thanks!
