Which casino(s) downtown have the best rules for BJ players downtown? We're booked a month from now.

That's going to depend on the minimums your are looking for.

El Cortez has the lowest house edge in the city on their single deck 3:2. The D and Golden Gate have decent 2 deck pitch games.

Golden Nugget, Four Queens and Binions are all 6:5 on the lower minimum games.

Everyplace else is not great but at least 3:2 bj.

Cal and Fremont have a $3 shoe game 3/2 but do not allow DAS.

The El Cortez has the best low-limit blackjack for double-deck... ($5 min, 3:2, H17, DAS, about 67% penetration).
Golden Gate & Plaza have the exact same game available, but at $25 min. ('theD' has it too @ $50 min., but I've never played it there)
The Boyd properties all have 3:2 double-deck pitch, H17, no DAS... but plenty of tables available 24/7 at $5 min.

Hint - there is never any reason whatsoever to play 6:5 in downtown Vegas.

Best overall rules I've seen are at Golden Nugget...6-deck shoe, but it's 3:2, S17, DAS & LS permitted... last time I was there (in June) it was a $25 table on a weekday afternoon.
I have no idea whether or not it's still available, or at what minimums on weekends & nights.
The 2-deck games at El Co, GG & Plaza are solid choices.

And yet for some reason I never ever make it there.

Well I did once, I was not allowed in the video game club with a hockey jersey on. I signed up for a players card then my friends met me said they did not want me to be alone (which honestly I am 100% fine with) so then I left without gambling even $1.

Wait, what? Last time I was at the Nugget in late May, a lot of the tables were $10 min, but I thought they were still 3/2. Have the majority of tables on the main Nugget floor gone to 6/5?

Another question: know all the games on the main floor of GG are CSM. What about the D? Any decent low-limit non-CSM games there (that pay 3/2)?

I was at the GN in mid July, for an entire week, and once in a while I'd see a $10 3:2 table. Most of the games were 6:5, even at $15. Like Top mentioned above the GN really only has one playable BJ game; that was my impression when I was there this past July.

The funny thing is that right down the street, on a Friday and Saturday night I could find $5 3:2 at the GG and Plaza.

Can you explain what this means? I'm curious about what you mean by video game club.

I am guessing he is referring to the barcade, Insert Coins. Places like that have weird rules regarding jerseys. Or anywhere. I was once not allowed into a Brothers bar because I was wearing a soccer jersey with a Nintendo logo on it. Yeah gonna cause gang trouble for sure....

Pretty much all of the games at the D are CSM especially the low limit. I think they have a double deck non-csm $25 or $50 game in the high limit area

Gotcha, thanks. I thought wanker was referring to something in the El Cortez.

    For a hockey shirt? Wow!

Can see the point . What if one drunk had a Bruins or Red Sox jersey and another drunk had on a Rangers or Yankees jersey. Or other rivalries.
