My last blackjack session the last time I was in Vegas was at the Excalibur, I noticed that the dealer pushed a button each time she dealt the cards. This to keep track of how many hands are being dealt per player? Do they do this across the board for Mlife properties or other strip properties?

I've seen it, I think it has to do with a side game bet where the pot increases by a tiny amount with every hand played.

i believe it is to track how many hands are dealt per hour.. keeps the dealers "moving the game along" so you can't deal at snails pace and let your players snag free drinks all day with barely any play.. at least that is what they do at my local casino..

I've never seen this except for when there is a progressive side bet or when using a shuffler. Are you sure it wasn't for that?

I don't play or pay much attention to side bets so I can't say for sure if that is what it was.
