    My Trip Report

At the airport... waiting ... waiting.... seems like today is the longest day of my life!

We booked a quick trip to Las Vegas a month back or so, and we had one more sleep til the big arrival! If only it was going to be a seamless departure and early arrival. We got ourselves packed last night and decided we should rest up before heading to the fabulous city of lights and slots!! I was fast asleep dreaming of JP's to be won, money I would be rolling around in... RINGGGGG RINGGGGGGGG... it can't be the phone, it's not time to awaken out of my dream yet.... RING RINGGGGGG "hello this is Allegiant, we are sorry for the inconvenience your flight has been delayed until 4:13PM. " WHAT!!!!!!!!!! 4:13!! We had this all planned, get into Vegas at 10:30 am and leave Thursday on the late flight for a quickie trip and voila! It was not meant to be :( Our flight is delayed 8 hours! That is a full day, well feels like the full day.

Alas, we are sitting at the airport awaiting for the flight to board so we can get to Vegas a mere 8 hours after what seemed like the perfect the master plan! I hope this isn't how the whole trip will be. I am thinking positive that this is just a hiccup and we are going to be rewarded for our patience when we arrive.

    Plans we have are:

We are staying at the Luxor.
Visit with friends that are in from Scotland, who stay near SouthPoint.
    Picasso Exhibit at BFA.
Lunch with our host on Thursday.
Play slots... and a few more slots!!

    Offer:
3 free nights, upgrade to suite
    $450 FP
    $300 FB
    Limo to and from airport

MyVegas Rewards (DH & I both have rewards):
    2 -Bellagio buffet
    2 - $25 FP
$50 off $100 spend at Rice n Company
$75 off $150 spend at Tender

My plan is to provide you all with some low rolling slot porn and live updates, we shall see if it's possible. In previous trips I haven't been successful but I am going to try and try again!

Maybe your flight home will get delayed by a day or two. Good luck!

When you get there, I hope you win big to ease the pain of flying allegiant. I'm considering flying UA for $2xx more just to avoid Allegiants delays, fires, unscheduled landings, etc. As npom said, hope your return flight is delayed a few days (and you don't have to be home)

No reason to go home yet.

Good Luck and have a great trip! Cannot wait to see all the jackpots! From all the reports on this board, Allegiant must be the worst airline there is. If we had the issues many on here report and there were not another viable option to fly with, it may make us give up flying altogether.

You sure had the perfect plan, until you booked Allegiant!!! When you finally arrive, I hope you hit it big and have a huge delay on the way home, so you can spend extra time in Vegas!!!

When we hit the tarmac everyone cheered!! Normally everyone is excited and cheerful on flights to Vegas, this one definitely had a different tone to it; although, when we were descending into Vegas the passengers all woke up and started celebrating.

We got the hotel nice and quick, checking in through VIP is always smooth,we grabbed a drink there and headed up to the room. Our room has a great view of the airport, so we are happy. Quickly dropping the luggage off in the room, we decided to head to the casino to check out what's new, moved etc. The Luxor seems to have mainly the same slot machines as they had our last trip. I don't care for the premium machines, not only for the amount you need to spend before making points, but I find that most do not pay well. Buffalo is my favorite machine as volatile as it can be! I started there and proceeded to spend a way to much in hopes of hitting something. I did have a few small hits that were notable, I'm still working on getting a "good hit"! We headed to bed at 2am, after saying we were only staying up til midnight, famous last words on the first night!

Today we woke up, had breakfast at the pyramid cafe and headed to Excalibur to meet our friends that are visiting from Scotland (J&N). They gave DH a mini club that was made from an old clubmaker in Scotland in April and I am going to have it framed in a shadowbox for him for Christmas. J&N brought me a ball, ball marker, postcard of the clubhouse and a scorecard from the Old Course so I can add what is needed when framing the club; I think it will look fabulous and DH will be pleasantly surprised when he opens it. We gambled a bit at Excalibur and J&N must have rolled in something as they were doing quite well, as for DH & myself we were throwing money away it seemed. We were happy for J&N as they are here for 2 weeks so having a good day is a must! We wandered to the Luxor where J&N kept on hitting nicely and DH & I doing the absolute opposite, we just have no mojo so far today. We are back at the room having a wee siesta before trying again tonight. Dinner will likely be Tender tonight, we have always been pleased with the service, food and drinks.

Tomorrow's plan is heading to Bellagio , but we will see if that happens, we don't like to plan too much when we are here. Meeting J&N at 1pm is the only set schedule I would say we will keep.

We are home : ( no flight delays coming back unfortunately. I really do have to commend those that can report when in Vegas, I just am much too tired to write when I get back to the room and when I wake up I’m too busy getting ready to start the gambling day!

We got up Wednesday and headed out to Bellagio for the buffet. We made pit stops along the way at NYNY and Monte Carlo dropping a few bucks in the slots along the way. Neither of us did anything notable at either casino. We skipped Aria and took the tram directly to Bellagio. Plenty of golfers walking through Bellagio with their clubs, they must be heading to TPC to play, this is a no play (golf wise) trip – boohoo for us! We wandered through the conservatory, DH really doesn’t care to walk through but I enjoy meandering through looking at the creativity that goes into the display.

At 10:45 we decided it was time to hit the buffet, DH loves breakfast food and I don’t so we get the best of both worlds this way. The food was ok, glad I didn’t pay the $20. DH & I both agreed the dinner buffet at Bellagio is much better than the breakfast/lunch. After our brunch I decided to gamble in lieu of viewing the Picasso exhibit. Things were not looking good for me, I was playing the $100 and out game! DH was hanging in, and I was to the point of minimum betting so my daily budget didn’t get blown straight away. Correct me if I’m wrong but, I figure it all works out for the ADT the same anyhow “coin-in” is coin-in; with exception, that I wouldn’t go through my daily budget as fast on min. bet.

When it hit 1pm we headed back to the Excalibur as our J&N would be taking the shuttle from Southpoint to here to meet us. At Excalibur I sat on a Sun n Moon machine was thought I would bet middle ground for a bit to test the waters her. I put in $20 and was up to $100 in no time! My luck finally is changing. DH was still doing ok, he was sat on Tiki Torch a few old favorites of ours. He doubled his $20 and was ready to move on. J&N showed up and we all head to find a bank of machines we can sit and visit while playing. Buffalo seems to be the obvious choice for us all. J sits on a buffalo machine that is on fire! He can’t lose, he bets minimum as they are here for 2 weeks and always say they couldn’t afford to bet more than minimum or they would be sitting penniless in their room for at least a week. My Buffalo is doing well, not hitting big, but is consistent and my original $20 has expanded to $200, so I am happy I have a bit more to play with today ;) We all make a group decision to head off to the Luxor for some “real” drinks, being long time patrons of the Luxor we have gotten to know the CW’s quite well. None of us did anything notable, J&N left us at 5:30 to wander back to catch the shuttle as they are tuckered, they are not on Vegas time, still on UK time.

DH & I go back to the room to freshen up and get ready for dinner at Rice & Co. We really enjoy Rice & Co and visit it at least once each trip with the help of the MyVegas reward. The Wor Wonton and wicked roll are my favorites! Dinner was great as is the usual and off to Mandalay Bay we go. DH usually does well at Mandalay Bay. We walk around the casino, one thing we find is not much changes at Mandalay Bay machine wise. They do put in the new machines but a lot of the machines haven’t been moved around in years. We didn’t do well here and went back to the Luxor. We stayed up until 3 am, we both were hanging in and stayed above board before we decided to call it a day.

(I really wish I had screenshots of wins for you but they were dire! Not worth taking pictures of most of my teeny wins… DH was doing ok but he doesn’t have patience to take pictures he stops the payouts and keeps on spinning!)

Our last day! I can’t believe it’s Thursday already…. We give J & N a quick call and they are too tuckered to visit today so we will see them next time they are out. A quick call to our host to find out what time we are meeting her for breakfast/lunch and we decide on breakfast at the Pyramid Café. We have a great visit and catch up; we’ve had her as a host for many moons and always enjoy visiting with her. DH asked her if there were any calendars left over from the Fantasy Calendar party at LAX on Wednesday and she got us 2 one for DH and one for J!

The day didn’t start off to stellar although we weren’t going through money like water. It was getting to the point of us moving around in circles around the casino so we knew it was time to leave soon. Steady sat down on Dancing in Rio, got the Bonus free spins ..... and.... I wish I was fast enough to take a picture of the spin he hit the Major Jackpot on, but I barely realized he got all the green lines before it started spinning to finish his bonus. The slot attendant took his ID and looked to him said "I'm sorry" when she realized we were Canadian and informed us we would lose a portion, we knew this but who cares ... we got a HAND PAY!!

Allegiant is Crap I have flown them 4 times since moving to Des Moines and each time have been delayed. I vowed after this summers trip never to fly that airline again. Just one flight a day and if it gets canceled which one trip it did your screwed.Leaving for the M on Monday and this time it is Southwest really miss America West.
