    My Trip Report

Hello. I have enjoyed so many trip reports that I thought it was time to contribute one of my own. Like most of my trips, this was mostly a solo trip with my girlfriend coming out for a couple days.

I’m planning to post each day’s events, one day at a time, over the course of the coming week so it will be similar to a live report except the entire day’s posting will be done at once. I’m planning on writing a summary of each day and providing some observations. I’ll let the pictures do a lot of the talking though. On to Day 1.

    Day 1: Sunday, September 27th

I really enjoy being in a sportsbook on NFL Sundays, but unfortunately Sunday turned out to be a travel day. Fortunately the forecast called for a lot of sunshine.

Before the drive to the airport, I stopped at the bank to get some $2 bills. I know others use them around Las Vegas. I think we need to make it a VMB thing.

I stopped to get a sandwich for the drive. I thought it was appropriate to go to a place called Head West.

I drove to Peoria, Illinois and flew Allegiant Airlines to Las Vegas. The flight was on time and uneventful. After landing I took the shuttle to Grandview Resorts. Grandview Resorts is located about 4 or 5 miles from the Strip and is next to the South Point casino. Although I’d prefer to stay on the Strip, I enjoy staying here and I’m able to get a really good price on the room for the week. Plus I like the South Point casino.

If you check Grandview Resorts on Yelp, it only has 2 ½ stars. That’s misleading because a lot of people rate it one star because they’re upset with the timeshare presentations. I’ve never been through one of the presentations, but I’ve seen people taking the tour of the place and sometimes it seems tense. I checked in and went to the room. As usual, I was pleased with it.

Sunday was the night of the Supermoon/Blood Moon so I thought I would start the night by walking around and watching that. The Blood Moon was interesting to see, but difficult to photograph.

    The moon seemed noticeably brighter.

I decided to get some food at a place I hadn’t tried yet, Secret Pizza in the Cosmopolitan. I got a slice of the white pizza and a slice of pepperoni. I thought both were good, but not great. I’d have no problem eating there again, but I probably won’t because there are other pizza places I like more.

When I had gone into the Cosmopolitan, there was a quarter moon visible and when I came out it was back to almost full.

I spent the rest of the night just walking around taking in the sights on the Strip.

The photos are fantastic! Thanks for all of the posts. Did you use a camera or your phone? Thanks for the reminder re: Sprinkles. I LOVE those cupcakes. Unfortunately there's a new one right near my office. On some nights I could see having one of those while at a machine with a nice cup of coffee or strolling the strip chowing down that goodness. LOL. Where is the machine located within the Linq area?

Walking from LV Blvd, It's right before reaching Brooklyn Bowl on the Flamingo side of the shops.

Thank you. The pictures were taken with my phone - the new iPhone 6S. I was really happy to get it a couple days before my trip.
Yes, the ATM is located outside the Sprinkles store by the fountain on the Flamingo side. It's a really nice area to get a cupcake and sit down to watch/listen to the fountain and people watch.

You're welcome. Brooklyn Bowl is a really nice place. I'll have some pictures from inside later in the report.

    Day 2: Monday, September 28th

I slept in a little. It’s kind of a tradition when I’m staying at Grandview to walk over to the South Point casino and get a couple 75¢ hot dogs. I got over there and found they are no longer 75¢.

    Still a good deal.

South Point bowling center – 32 of the 64 lanes. If you look closely, there’s a wipeout on Lane 21.

    A close-up for you.

    The other 32 lanes.
