can anyone comment on the BJ conditions in S. Lake Tahoe? Haven't been in a couple years (lack of snow) but with El Nino on the way we are making plans for this winter.

    Specially wanting to know:

3/2 vs 6/5...prevalence and if based on any specific games/minimums
    S17 or H17
Shoe, Pitch or CRM...If shoe, how many decks?
    Surrender?

I'm assuming double after split, double down on any 2 (except maybe in single/double deck game)

We are generally $25 to $100 players and willing to play floor or HL as needed

    TIA

I don't know anymore, but back in the late-80s, all of the games were 3:2, double on 10 & 11 only, I do recall that the Hilton there had one table (4-deck shoe) that was advertised as "Strip Rules Blackjack". It was 3:2, S17, DAS, double-any-two.
For two straight days, I lived at that table...and did pretty well.
Otherwise - I did not (and will not ever) play any game that does not allow me to double any two cards.
    Hopefully, they've changed since then.

Terrible, I can assure you...but for $100 minimum, I can bet you'll get a decent game at either Hard Rock or Montbleu.

I was there a few months ago. Only played at Harrahs and Harveys. Most games are 6/5 but there are a couple 3/2 at each. As I recall, one was a double deck where you could only double on 10 and 11 or something weird like that, and the other was a shoe game where you could double on several more counts. Don't remember exactly.

There is no surrender at all.

The high limit room had a rule that I had never seen before. You could not come in in the middle of a shoe, and if you left to go to the bathroom, you couldn't come back in. I thought it was stupid and didn't play there.

If you catch one of the few friendly dealers and a rare friendly table, it can be a fun place to play blackjack, but they make it difficult to like.

    not sure i expected much more than what I've seen so far;

what about the shoe games in general? 3:2 or mostly 6:5? 6 decks? hit/stand 17?

Lakeside Inn is a local place beyond the "downtown" of S.L.T. but is friendly and has 3:2 double deck pitch as well as a shoe game. Good drinks and perhaps a bit smokier than the larger casinos but gamble-wise a steal compared to what is offered else-where. Good luck!! (also the liquor store next to the lakeside has a great variety of brew in bottles for single or 6-pack purchase + liquor of course)

Let us know what you find as we go in March to ski. Thanks.
