We are headed to Vegas in 6 weeks, 17 of us for a 50th anniversary (luckily, they are 71--still young enough to have a good time!)

We have stayed at the Nugget in the Carson Tower & in the Rush Tower (both on MIL's dime)

Booked Carson Tower at Nugget & got a Landry's card anticipating a complimentary upgrade to Gold Tower, if available. Everyone is booked their, on our own dime.

Just got a mailer from Binions for the 4 Queens for $26/wknights & $58 weekend nights. I called & said I would only book if we had a quiet room, as we have stayed at 4 Queens once & were overlooking the Fremont Street sound stage--seriously, so loud I couldn't even concentrate on a book with earplugs in. She said for $10/nt more we could book a deluxe room that faces away from Fremont. Now, 4 Queens was underwhelming to be sure--felt like 1960s motel. But it was clean, and really we use a room to sleep & shower (yeah, not much sleeping last time we stayed).

4 Queens is half the cost of the Nuggest, all taxes & resort fees included ($450 v. $225). I figure it is close enough to the Nugget....

I guess I am looking for some input from those who have stayed in deluxe rooms at the 4 Queens--will they be quiet? Are they ANY nicer than the standard rooms? I truly am not very picky if it is clean & safe. (I prefer Ballys to Caesars, even if both are comped) One part of me says save the $225...another says I swore I would never stay at 4 Queens again (even comped, as it was), but I think it was more due to the noise than how dated it was. I have both reservations & they are both fully cancellable for quite a while.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

I stayed @ 4Q last trip. It did the job. Clean bed, bathroom, and was on Fremont . I was up until 5-7am both nights so noise wasn't a problem for me.
I was also, on a annual bender with 10 guys 30-40 y/o. If you will spend any decent amount of time in the room, id say go for the nicer room

My husband and myself have stayed at the 4 queens 2 years ago. Will never ever stay there again. It started from the time we entered the place till we left. We arrived at the front of the casino to check in, check in is at the back of hotel. Asked the bartender if there was someone to help us with luggage to get to check in, they were too busy and would not get anyone to help. Everyone was very rude when you asked them a question or needed info. Would not play at the tables again, wanted to use a match play which they supplied and dealer rolled her eyes and said in a not so nice voice ok. The restaurant in the 4 queens get rid of the loud oriental manager was never nice the whole time we were there, to us or the employees. Check in was very smooth and they apologized for there rude employees. We told corp. about our experience and they apologized and gave us 4 free nights, did not use will never stay there again. Must say room was small but ok and clean, maid was very nice.

Stay at the Gold Nugget instead.

Three of my four Vegas trips have been at the 4 Queens. It is my go-to place for now, although the Plaza is looking more and more attractive. POSITIVES: NO RESORT FEE! South tower is quiet, rooms are adequate, housekeeping tidied up my room every day. !In-room safe! Clean towels, hot shower, comfortable bed. TV? Never turned it on. No bugs. Hugo's Cellar is a 10+. Close to Golden Nugget breakfast buffet and poker room, Binions poker room, Pizza Rock and Nacho Daddy's. Center of Fremont Street. NEGATIVES: Overall, staff seems rushed, unfriendly, unprofessional, and unhappy. That one is squarely on management. A few shining stars, though. Poor to nonexistent cocktail waitress service. Dealers easy to piss off and a lot of eye rolling. Several dealers (bald guy) act like you are a giant bother and how dare you play their game and ask questions. That ****** would be walked out of my casino. I don't and won't gamble there. Plenty of other places to have fun with my money downtown. A little heavy on the perfume in the casino, but tolerable. Bartenders pour drinks very lightly. Overall, the vibe says "We are barely making it at this casino, so spend your money and get the F*** out." Which I do. OVERALL: Decent rooms for the price, food edible and inexpensive, pretty casino, get from the elevator to the street and the street to the elevator as quickly as possible. I'll be curious to check out the recent room upgrades, and how bad they gouge their guests to pay for it.

Kinda the same experience as the post above. We will be there 6 weeks also. We sleep and play a little at 4 queens. Front desk staff has been very friendly and accommodating, drinks have been stiff make sure like everywhere tip early and it seems to stay good, the table game dealers seem to stiff at 4Queens, play our table games at D, Nugget, and Gate. Express bus picks up right there nice if you like to get to the strip. Happy 50th!!!
