    Broken link

How does a beggar go on strike? Hold a picket sign next to a guitar case for change?

I hope they do. It would be so nice to experience Fremont Street without them!

Is their Union called "The International Brotherhood (Sisterhood) of Freeloading Arts and Crafts"?

This is a blatant violation of their right to "earn" money while doing nothing.

Reading the article, I think the authors took some liberties with the headline.

They filed something in court, and are planning a protest the day it comes out. A protest could be doing the same thing as before (not registering and ignoring the circles) or it could just be picketing in front of casinos and being an even bigger nuisance than before. So our dreams of a true strike may go unfulfilled.

I wonder if it'll be like the Frontier strike & they'll have faux-strikers while they continue to "perform" under the new restrictions...
(I wonder if calling a bum/busker a "scab" is considered an insult? Also - I wonder what their union dues are...) :rolleyes2:

A strike? You mean they would stand in front of the casino holding a sign? Who would notice?

"The union claims the city's decision to place restrictions on Fremont performers is unconstitutional."

    First... they have a union?

    Second... "unconstitutional"???

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble... and beg (e.g. harass) gamblers, visitors and naive foreign tourists for "tips" in filthy unlicensed children's cartoon character costumes, oversized baby diapers and skimpy outfits too small to cover up hairy beer bellies, chunky ass cheeks and saggy boobs.

    STRIKESTRIKESTRIKE!!!

Can't find any mention of them anywhere on the web besides that article so far. Also, Sonic Laborers and Visual Entertainer's Union... SLAVE Union?

The comments on the article are fun.

how can un-registered, non tax paying "workers" have a union?

Was it from the firm of Dewey, Chetham & Howe?
