I was in Vegas this weekend with a big crew and managed to hit this at Cosmo high limit. I don't play a lot of video poker but got really lucky on this one. Full trip report to come. [IMG]

Nice hit! I was dealt 4 aces in DDB over the weekend but it was a 3 hand nickel Ultimate X machine so I only won about $166.

I assume when you ask how rare you are asking for the odds of being dealt 4-2's. It's 1/54,145, a little more rare than getting a royal flush (not a dealt royal, any royal, ~1/45,000).

Sweet hit! Congratulations!!! Look forward to the TR later!

The odds of either getting dealt quad 2s, 3s, or 4s with or without the kicker dealt to you is 3*48/2,598,960 = 1 in 18,048

The odds of dealt 2s-4s without the kicker only: 3*36/2,598,960 = 1 in 24,064

The odds of dealt 2s-4s with the kicker only: 3*12/2,598,960 = 1 in 72,093

zignerlv has the correct number for deuces only.

Thanks Tring and Zig... I don't play a lot of video poker and generally use it as a time to destress from playing blackjack. I guess it's better to be lucky than good :)

The only unfortunate part about that hit was it was right before dinner at STK where I was footing the bill for 11 of my buddies. Needless to say my big win encouraged them to order whatever they wanted :)

Also, in that particular game, would you give up a dealt full house if you were had three A's-4's???

Tring is probably the expert, but I think you would drop one of the 4s and pray for a few Aces?

Thanks! In Triple Double Bonus, you hold kickers, but in standard DDB, you don't.

    Right.

And hold 2s-4s full as long as the full house is 40 credits or more, break 2s-4s full if the full house is 35 or less (yikes!).

I don't think I've ever pulled a Royal Flush on a 100-play machine even when I've held 4 to the Royal...the only time I've gotten a Royal on a 100-hand VP machine was at Southpoint several years ago when I was dealt a Royal so got it on all 100 hands. But since I was playing 1 cent, I believe it only paid $125 for 100 Royals..
