    My Trip Report

The last trip left us 55k short of making Mlife platinum but thanks to my birthday trip from which the Aria sent me home with a 10k win, as mentioned in my last TR, the bankroll is flush and our bags are packed.

She is perfectly right as always.
Breakfast means omelette, fried bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, boiled egg, hot pancake, waffle, oatmeal, croissant, yogurt and coffee.
Missing one item, I would not call it a breakfast.

I don't think anyone on the forum has ever reported winning on "The Jetsons" before. Makes me wonder if that thing is near the state minimum.

Sorry gambling isn't going well. Hopefully you turned it around!

Sorry I dropped off. Let's finish this report up.

To recap: Sunday I was in full degenerate mode and intent on returning the money I won on my birthday. Bought in at 6-deck blackjack table with $1000 and started playing 2 spots @ $100 each. Things were going well, I was pressing my bets and ran it up to $5000. If I hadn't been a degenerate then I'd set some of the winnings away in case the cards turned bad. My wife didn't have a frying pan with her to convince me either. And then Lady Luck had places to go that didn't include me. All said and done I left the table down $2000. This pattern repeated itself later at a DD table when my $1000 turned into over $2500 and then a $2000 loss. Neither my wife or I had luck at Pai Gow and thus the day ended with $5800 loss.

On Monday we slowed the bleeding by playing lower limit but it still was another painful day with a $2000 loss. We attempted to turn the tables playing carnival games such as three card poker or crazy 4 poker but to no avail. I rarely play the sucker bets because I don't hit on them whereas my wife almost always plays it and frequently has some success. Being told that's where the money is is a pet peeve of mine and especially so if other players are telling you.

Anyhow, we played for several hours Pai Gow with a fun couple and it was amazing to see the other wife pull two straight flushes within 3 hands which brought her back to even. What are the odds?

Dinner was at Jean-Georges which was pricey but well worth it. Forgot to take pictures of appetizer and desert. The Tomahawk Chop is massive!

Come Tuesday morning we were determined not to get the losses get to us, enjoy the trip and hopefully turn things around.

Start the gambling by sitting down for blackjack at a $25 table on first base, playing two spots. First deal I get BJ on the first spot, second deal I get BJ on the second spot and I think it was the forth deal that I got the third blackjack. I assume the other two players at the table weren't too happy but it's not as if they would have received the BJ if I hadn't sat down. You know how it often goes, one spot at the table seems to get all the luck. I think we lost track after the 12th!!! blackjack within about 60-90 minutes but unfortunately I still managed to lose, mostly flat-betting.

Later I was playing at a full table with fun players and dealers where I split two Ace of Heart into three and then four Ace of Heart. 6 of them in the deck and I get four together. I get three face cards and a seven and the dealer busted. Amazing! After two hours I had turned $300 into $900, took the $600 win to a $50 table and within 10 minutes to $0. Ouch!

Still no real luck at the tables though with another $2000 loss.

Dinner was at Bardot Brasserie where we had flat iron steak, sea bass, green beans and mac & cheese. Also a great place to eat. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures.

After dinner it was back to Pai Gow where we were finally able to book a break even session. The whole trip I had quad 4s once and otherwise nothing better than full house and besides the two straight flushes I mentioned earlier, nobody else at the tables had good fortune bonus paying hands.

We were determined to give it one more try at blackjack though and we're glad we did. Finally found two awesome shoes where I turned $1000 into $7500 of which I took $6000 home. The rest was donked off at another table trying for a repeat. At last some chip porn!

Final numbers: 100k TC earned including spend, 21.5 hours at $150 avg played, $5300 loss (on which I otherwise would have to pay $2000 taxes) and $700 earned in comps. So a net loss of $2600 which is not the desired result but acceptable.
