International Game Technology PLC (IGT) Wheel of Fortune slots ignited a player's luck and awarded him a $1,271,032 jackpot on Wheel of Fortune Double Diamond® at Caesars Palace, in Las Vegas, Nev., on Aug. 30, 2015.

The new millionaire, James M., said he is a longtime fan of Wheel of Fortune slots and was in complete shock when he won the life-changing jackpot.

No one pays jackpots like IGT. IGT launched Wheel of Fortune slots in 1996 and solidified the Company's leadership in Wide Area Progressive technology. Known as the most successful slot title of all-time, the fan-favorite theme has minted nearly 1,000 millionaires and delivered over $3 billion in jackpots throughout its illustrious history. IGT has created more than 200 variations of the game that can be found on casino floors in more than 20 countries worldwide

What a feeling that must be...I keep hoping...

We were in Vegas when they won and although we always play at Caesars and we always play Wheel of Fortune there, we didn't this time. Happy for the person who won.

I got to vegas on Aug 30 and I heard about it when I was there. I normally play the WOF and megabucks, usually play the megabucks at least once per day if not more. Yup, like others I want to win enough so I can retire comfortably already.

He's not an instant millionaire, after taxes if he takes the lump sum I bet he is taking home less than 600K. I mean its significant but depending on your current fiscal situation it's more like life-bettering than life changing money.

So he's only looking at about $60,000 a year on the 20 year payout? Should be a lot better on taxes, but that sure is disappointing..

A lump sum option is available. They just do a net present value calculation on it.

Image winning over a million dollars and finding out you can't even retire.
$60,000 a year is hard to live on so I can see the statement of being disappointing.
Now, keeping the job and now getting an extra $60K is the better way to look at it.

I'm already retired so wouldn't find an extra $60K a year disappointing at all nor would I when I was working.
