    Downtown or Strip.

What would you include or exclude?

    For the hub:

Strip, 4's everywhere. 13th floor is prestige and/or VIP.
    3:2, single zero.
Strip side Westward Ho with craps, Ho Dog Specials and giant slots. Ice cream sundaes
    randomly included.
The Range Steakhouse. No celebrity chef. Just good meat and good service at a good price.
    Lounge Acts!!!

    For the dee:

Gotta think on it. Will be back.

    Good BJ, VP and craps.

Steak joint, French bistro or brasserie type place and something a little funky. Also a quick serve bakery type place with great coffee and a decent pizza joint - or maybe a noodle place...screw it, this is my Fantasy - gimme both!

VP bar with plenty of craft beers and well made cocktails... and let's add a decent bourbon selection too. Shitty pay tables and enforced playing perfectly acceptable at this bar as long as drinks are comped and there are plenty of nice, big TVs for sports viewing.

    Big, comfy, well appointed rooms.

Comfortable bar/lounge to relax in with a nice cocktail. Live (good) music at night would be a bonus.

Friendly and helpful staff (sexy CWs willing to pretend thecarve is the wittiest, most handsome son of a bitch they've ever seen a big bonus).

Location on the strip, between Encore and MB.

South Point/Plaza bar paytables (with full pay "gimmick games") with TAG Lounge Beer selection. Strip location for atmosphere. Done.

M Resort's 32 Degree Bar is a pretty good hybrid of these two main requests right now.

It would be a sprawling mega casino covering the whole area where Caesar's Palace and The Mirage currently stand. My criteria would be:

    1. Customer service would be butt-kissingly good for everything in the casino. They would notice if you were missing something, but they wouldn't be overbearing.

    2. Excellent quality and portions at all of their restaurants. It must have standalone Italian, French, Continental, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, and Indian restaurants, a buffet with a huge variety of food from all different regions of the world, like Africa, South America, South Asia, a cafe, and a food court open 24/7. All of these restaurants would be themed and have a good view, whether it be of a waterfall, a golf course, etc.

    3. Combination of themes from Mirage, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, and Wynn. There would be lots of different attractions, like Bellagio's conservatory surrounded by a small lake and waterfalls.

    4. Decently-sized room with a large bathroom that has a jacuzzi, shower, and bath. The view would be of a golf course or one of the different attractions in the casino (waterfall, fountain, etc.)

    5. Many non-smoking Blackjack tables, which of course pay 3:2. There will always be $5 and $10 minimum tables available. There will be enough tables that if I want to play by myself, I can, but there will always be nearly-full tables that I can slot into if I feel like playing with others.

    6. Big race and sports book that I can hang out at with a restaurant inside, like Zoozacrackers or Sports Book Grill.

    7. Large shopping area interspersed with some restaurants.

    8. Some lounges, like the Petrossian Bar at the Bellagio that have calm music.

    9. Multiple parking lots around the casino located underground that are easily accessible from the I-15, Frank Sinatra Drive, and/or Las Vegas Boulevard.

    10. Tram to other casinos that you don't have to walk through a bunch of shops to get to.

    11. Large arcade for when I want to feel like a kid again.

    12. Huge spa with a fitness center and the works, and of course, it needs waterfalls.

    13. The pool, spa, and concierge are right next to or can be reached directly from the hotel elevator.

Looking at this list, I might as well want everything.

    This.

Today's Vegas has everything, except the vibe of the old Westward Ho, which could easily be recreated. Let's face it, the romantics of this board who adore Sinatra and Deano and ask for the good old days to return.... It's over, and that era unfortunately won't return to Vegas.

The 80's/90's Vegas cheese of Westward Ho/ Slots O' Fun/ Stardust/ Frontier etc. could easily return, and the surge in downtown popularity proves that the market exists. Look at the popularity of Casino Royale. Las Vegas is missing the boat on that business model..... Very odd. Low overhead, low price points, low limits, and high volume= success.

The Stardust in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

With some of the newer machines, of course. :) :) :)

I've had this discussion with my partner. Not really about what's inside the casino but how it'd look. I'd build a London themed casino as most Americans I've met love London :)
I'd make it look cleaner than the real London though!

Caesars before Ha$$ah took it over or Palazzo right after it opened. Good rooms, pleasing atmosphere, great service, good food choices, FAIR GAMES. Neither one these days- in fact, nothing on the main Strip.

Rio with Antonio's and Ipenema Cafe still open, the original buffets and parade show with the best gaming odds in town. Plus move it to the strip!

    Yeah...the Stardust...only for me, it would be the 80s & 90s.
Toucan Harry's, where you could still smoke, play Keno during your meal, & the comp slips always included alcohol.
    Plenty of 3:2 double-deck pitch, S17, with DAS... and at $5 & $10 minimums.
Nice rooms in their new (at the time) tower.
Non-existent lines to check-in at the "invited guests" counter.
The "gambling circuit" in the immediate area - Riv-Westward Ho-Circus-Frontier, and even Sahara, Desert Inn & LVH if you didn't mind the stroll.
The best sports book anywhere (at the time). Unlimited cocktail service in there. Best place ever to watch Monday Night football.
Sigma Derby, back before it was considered to be "vintage"... it was always a party atmosphere at the Stardust Sigma Derby machine.
    Speed-chips.
Free cigarettes at the tables...even at the $5 & $10 tables.
Pit-bosses who were generous with 'table-comps', and were allowed to issue them at-will...if you helped keep a table lively & laughing & having fun, the pit-critters back then would reward you for that.
Attire & demeanor of gamblers... no, I'm not talkign 'jackets & ties' or evening gowns... but you rarely saw shorts & tank-tops either... and nobody dropping F-bombs at the tables... at least not more than once or twice before being forced to exercise discretion or leave the pit.
House-phone access to page friends at other casinos...this was important, as it was in the pre-cell phone days.

The place just always had a great atmosphere & they always did their best to try to make your time there enjoyable.

This may be my man-crush on Josh Duhamel talking, but I agree with #8. Montecito! All 3:2 as Danny would NEVER put up with this 6:5 nonsense...

That's where I was first introduced to Sigma Derby. TWO tables! :) Yes, it was a party atmosphere.

It's kinda been that way the last couple of times I've been at the D. Hard to get a seat.

One thing I'd have at my perfect casino would be comped massage on the casino floor. Poker rooms have had it available for years, don't know why they don't help out the rest of the players.
