    My Trip Report

Flew from Jacksonville Florida to Vegas. Flight uneventful and and on time so all good. Stayed for the First time at the Signature MGM. I could not have been happier and it will be my go to Hotel. Many people on Trip Advisory complained about the walk to MGM, but IMO if you are even in below average shape I can't imagine this being any worse than any other Hotel. The walk from the Signature is I believe closer to the Swim Park at MGM than if you stayed at the MGM itself. Plus the people mover things make the trip very close.
I am so happy I listened to so many people on here and purchased the American Casino Guide!! The first day in Vegas which was Tuesday the 25th we ventured over to Downtown and used 4 different match plays from the book. I hit on every match play!! 3 playing craps and once on Roulette. The wife is not much of a Gambler but she stuck a 20 dollar bill in the Wheel of Fortune slot machine and on first pull she won 150 dollars. In her fashion she cashed out and was done...LOL. I enjoy making my multiple bets at the Sports Book at MGM. Won 6 Bets and lost 2 for a profit for the trip of 550 dollars. Actually the first trip I have ever came out ahead in my Baseball bets. I was extremely pleased.
On Wednesday we took advantage of the ACG coupon for the Sonoma Cellar at Sunset Station. Saves you 25 bucks. Worth the book just in itself. I liked the home town feel of the Sunset Station right away, just liked the spacious layout of the place and the local feel. The Restaurant was very nice, not the best Steak Dinner I had but still very good with outstanding service. Later that evening after the meal I wanted to check out the Ellis Island Casino and since it was so close to the MGM Signature we did. My wife and I fell in love with that little place!!! we spent the next two evenings there till midnight. Loved sitting at the bar conversing with people and having a beer. Two beers for 4.50 is an incredible deal and loved that they made it on site. I had promised myself I would try playing Craps. I have studied how to play and played online at the Wizard site. So I went up to the table and told the guys at the Craps table I had never played. The guys running the table could not have been nicer and ensured I did not do anything too stupid. They also loved me because I was very generous placing bets on the pass line and the hard way bets. We won some and lost some and I came out ahead about 100 bucks at the end of the nights. We went back again on Thursday and they all remembered us when we walked in. I felt like Norm on Cheers..lol It's not fancy like Wynn or Bellagio but it's more our style and we will certainly spend more time on our next trip there.
The only show we went to was the free tickets we got with the Hotel Deal we signed up for was the Terry Fator Show at the Mirage. I almost decided to skip it so we could gamble instead, boy am I glad I changed my mind. What a great show that was. Being Retired Navy I also liked the fact all his proceeds from the sale of his gifts go to Military Charities like Wounded Warrior Project. He is not only very talented but you can see the love he has for his audience and this Country.
After all was said and done I brought a BR of 2600 and left with 3300. Not a big win but I was prepared to spend it all if I wanted and certainly did not do that and came back with more for the next trip.
Well not the best Trip Report but just wanted to share. I do love Vegas and try to make it out there a couple of times a year. Also love reading all the comments. If not for this board I would have never heard of the ACG or Ellis Island.

Sounds like a great trip! Thanks for posting your experience at Ellis Island. I've been meaning to go and will make it a point to do that next trip.

Glad you had a nice time in Vegas. LOL on your wife putting in $20 and cashing out at $150. That's the only way to lock in a win!

And coming back with more than what you brought is a big win, no matter how small the gain. Usually and unfortunately it's the other way around for most of us.
