$500 budget for 1 meal at SW

I'm going to SW in 9 days and I've set aside $500 for a fantastic meal. How can I best indulge myself with my budget? Thinking of a NY strip Wagyu 10 oz. or a 4 oz. Kobe Ribeye with a lobster tail and sides including Mac and cheese, SW fries, and creamed spinach. Follow that with a nice dessert. Does SW have Japanese whiskey? Last time I got a full comp from my Venetian host I was pleasantly surprised to see Cut had Hibiki Whiskey. If SW has Suntory that would make my night. Any recommendations on how you would make this your ultimate meal?

 

I would think $500 would be a great budget. My husband and I usually eat there for around $400-500 with a decent ($125ish) bottle of wine.
Cant help you with the Japanese whiskey question, but I would assume they have everything any other top notch steakhouse would have.

Cant wait to eat there on our 1 night trip!

 

I don't drink alcohol, so I couldn't crack $300 let alone $500.

It really depends on how big of an eater you are, and what types of food you must have when you go there. Assuming your $500 budget includes the 8.1% sales tax and an 18% tip, your actual budget is going to be around $400. That's still a lot of money, but it may not be enough to include Kobe beef even if you're going by yourself, especially if you're getting drinks, since it costs $220 for only 4 ounces and $35-$55 more per ounce.

They do have Suntory Hibiki whiskey, and while I haven't ordered it, I was told it goes for about $25 a glass. I believe that has not changed recently, but don't quote me on this.

I'm not going to assume your food preferences, so going with what you've listed, the total bill would come out to:

Domestic Wagyu New York Strip (10 oz): $80
Maine Lobster Tail addition to the steak: $45
Beef Tallow Steak Fries: $14
Poblano & Bacon Smoked Mac & Cheese: $14
Creamed Spinach: $14
4 glasses of Hibiki whiskey: $100
Assumed price for random dessert (no dessert menu posted): $30

For a total of $297, giving you around $100 more to spend. That gives you enough for another entree or steak and few more sides/drinks. I'm very partial to their foie gras, Chili-Rubbed Double Ribeye, and their sautéed wild mushrooms, but adding one or more of those to the list may be a bit too much food for one person. You know what you want, so with this in mind, you can mix and match a bit more while you're there.

 

For $500 solo or with one other person you could have a great meal. Just keep in mind the prices of kobe and wagyu which range from $30-$50 an oz. It is fantastic restaurant and you will enjoy it!!

That is also without many drinks but we all ate like kings. You can also see the price difference between kobe and wagyu at 5oz each.

Well, I'm not one to criticize any tipping as too much if its something someone is willing to give, but I'll note that its an additional 18% over top of a set 18% service charge, making it 36% total.

 

Ahh, now I see that the "Tip/Other" was in addition to the AutoGrat of 18%. I was confused because the amounts were exactly the same.
I have made that mistake before, especially at a nightclub where it is dark so hard to see the bill.
I now always ask if the total contains the tip, no matter where I go in Vegas (or anywhere else, but particularly in Vegas, where I assume everyone has their hand out looking for freebies).

 

And then there is the matter of tipping on booze and wine.

 

No double tip, the auto grat/tip is there once, it just shows up again at the bottom as a sub line item but doesn't get added in again
