Well as a new local (live on east Sahara) The STRAT has become a nice local casino for me. I enjoy going up to 107 for cocktails and it's a calmer vibe than center strip.

I am at C bar on the casino floor for some VP to decompress (8/5 by the way). Anyway...I got charged for my drinks! Kinda surprised! Granted it's happy hour 2-4-1 drinks. 8 bucks for two gin and tonics. But still. I'm shocked to get charged right after sliding at 20 in this machine. Let's see how I do!

    Anyone else experience this recently?

When that happens to me, maybe 5% of the time, I always say..."I was planning to play". They will fix it. Unless Stratosphere has all of a sudden changed to the...

Hopefully the progressive is high! It was ~$1800 when I was there in April.

It sometimes happens with new bartenders or bartenders who aren't paying attention. I remember playing at Aria once a couple trips back, there was a new guy who was about ready to charge me when I was asking for Ketel, despite my having a couple hundred bucks in the machine and playing max bet at $1; I heard one of the other bartenders, who knows me, pull him aside, point to me, and say, "He doesn't pay for drinks." Never felt like more of a high-roller (despite my generally mid-roller habits).

I happen to like The Strat.
That C -Bar drink special is a great deal.

One of my favorite "interactions" w/ a snooty bartender was at Bellagio -
I was playing VP........playing Max Bet.......waited 10 or 15 mins.....( at an empty bar )
for the snooty bartender to ask my drink. The Jaggoff saw me the whole time.
He finally asked.......I ordered....and went back to playing my VP machine.
I hit something and was up $250.
The @-hole comes back with my beer and announces the price of the beer.
    I said, "I'm playing VP ?"
    He doesn't say anything -
and then peers over the bar and looks at my machine ( and the $256 credits ).
I look at him with a "yeh, that's right @-hole...$256 bucks in !"
He just turns and walks away.

That may have been the last time I bothered playing there ?

I missed you posting the quad. Doh! Nice hit! Guess that 1800 I saw was a bit of a fluke though. :(

I'll take quads for 8 bucks. I'm okay with that! Although next time I'll make sure to speak up!

Just tell them you're playing, if for some reason they still want to charge you just say" I dont want it then", they'll spill it out, nothing they can do,
