    My Trip Report

Ok, so I made it to Vegas after 7 months, and I love it. Flight out was looking like it might leave early, then they did 3 recounts of the passengers, and then one late arrival made them repeat the 2-minute announcement they just gave. Finally got off about 15 minutes late. Arrived as expected, then bags took forever. Then almost an hour in line at Payless, and finally out of there in some ugly hatchback. They said I could have a car with a trunk if I could wait 30 more minutes, no way.

So I pulled a u-turn on Gillespie, and drove straight to SLS to check in. No issues! Here are some room pics:

To be continued after I check out the post.

I'm writing on my new android pad I got from Walmart for 45 bucks including a built-in keyboard case. Much easier than using the phone.

So I needed to get my Allegiant promos, and headed downtown. Got my 2 $25 matchplays from GG, and stopped by Cal to get details on their promo (get $25 after $50 coin-in, only good at 1 of the 3 properties), then headed to AZ Charlies on Decatur. I had gotten an email for a free bingo pack, so what the hell. I bought an additional pack so I could use the electronic thingee, and spent a boring hour losing, lol. Before the Bingo I ate the $4.99 steak & eggs special, yum. Mural in the Bingo room:

Lost $100 in no time at the DD DAS heads-up (I should know better by now), then went back downtown to set up my promos at El Co. Allegiant promo ended up being $10 freeplay, a free ace on BJ ($5), and a drink. I also set up my 5X points for Tuesday. Won a few bucks back at SD, then headed back to SLS for the night.

    Earlier the BJ offerings weren't bad - $5 SD 6:5, $10 8-deck 3:2, & $15 DD DAS. At night it was way different. 2 $25 tables 6:5 (both packed, duh), and a few 8 deckers $10 & up. One DD $25 min.

So since I had only one drink earlier, I sat at the bar to try my hand at Super Aces. Started out well, was dealt 3 aces twice, and dealt 4 to a royal, but alas, I turned $50 freeplay and $60 real money into nothing. The center bar has eliminated all IPAs, I had a couple Alaskan amber ales then some Sam Adams. Bathroom sign in SLS:

So after all of this why am I still loving it? Well I'm only down $200 out of pocket so far, and lots yet to come.

Oh, a couple other issues I had to deal with - safe in the room didn't work & had to be replaced, and the bartender took my beer & trashed my strategy sheet when I went to take a pee. I also swung by Palace Station after downtown but their DD was $10 min, so I just cashed in a myVegas coupon for the cafe. Had steak & shrimp, weak at best, but only cost $11 after the coupon.

But it's ok, I'm in Vegas, right?

Still time left to hit some Aces! And that sucks about the center bar. I always got my beer from the other bar. I forget what it's called. Lol. By unami burger I think?

I couldn't sleep for shit tonight; thinking about later this week! [emoji5]

How did you get Allegiant promos? Are they on the plane? Flying Allegiant to Vegas in a couple of weeks but I didn't see anything regarding that when booking online tickets.

I enjoy seeing photos of the different rooms at SLS. How are you finding the vibe in the SLS casino? Every trip I say I'm going to check it out and every trip I never make it there.

4 hours sleep, typical, heh. Not sure how much more I can say about the room - beds are comfy but firm, mini-bar, shower big enough for 3 but no tub, closet is an alcove near the door, TV is at least a 40-incher. Safe is in a narrow drawer under the mini-bar, and won't fit a small SLR digital camera. I'm in the World tower.

The Allegiant promos are ads in the in-flight magazine. None are actually "coupons" so I took photos of them just in case.

I only found the one bar, it has the weird video screen thing on the ceiling.

SLS is pretty hip, there was a DJ party at the pool yesterday. The barstools are all metal, not comfortable. There are I think 3 table pits, but not a lot of action.

Today will be Boulder Hwy, will try to update later.

1st quads of the trip. Played some BJ at Boulder Station, up $25, hit the Longhorn to do the matchplay, ended up winning $18. Then Eastside Cannery, played 9/5 JOB at the bar, got quads, then made $8 out of $5 freeplay, up a total of like $30.

Had the $9.99 prime rib at Snaps cafe in the EC, nowhere near as good as Cal or 4Q. Had a $5 off deal so it was cheap.

Drove downtown, did the Allegiant play $50 get $25 freeplay at the Boar bar, hit a few boats, and walked away another $30 ahead. Little wins that add up!

Checked in at Plaza, no love - one person working, 40 minutes waiting. Then Players Club didn't have my freeplay offer, so I will have to check again tomorrow. PC is honoring he LVC freeplay ACG for now, not sure about the matchplay.

I' m going to take 1 last shot at the Super Aces downstairs, then move some stuff to the Plaza, and hit Pizza Rock for the late HH. 5X points at El Co starts at Midnight, DDW is my goal.

All good today right up until the end. Dropped $20 at SLS chasing aces, then moved some stuff to the Plaza. Downtown Grand gave me 2 matchplays in addition to the $10 freeplay for the Allegiant promo, lady said they should be handing out coupons on the plane. Ate at Pizza Rock, excellent as always.

<sing> After Midnight, we gonna let it all hang out.. 5X points at El Co, spent an hour at DDW, broke even. Did my $10 freeplay at nickel 9/5 DDB, got 2nd quads of the trip.

Walked up Fremont for the 1st time this trip, made it back to Plaza, then dropped $60 at the bar on 9/6 Boner Deluxe. At least I got a couple beers. Time for some much-needed sleep.

So I woke up after 4 hours sleep (seeing a pattern?) and decided to head back to SLS. Dropped out for another hour of sleep, then went down to do the $25 matchplay. Given the few table options, I made a management decision to sit at the $5 SD 6:5 table. I know, I know, but since the odds are with me on the matchplay, it sort of evens out. And it worked - waited until things were in my favor, then put out the MP, and won it. Walked away ahead $65.

I decided to pack up & move my stuff downtown. Will just check out by phone tomorrow. I like what they have done here, but they are not the Cosmo. If I was a mid-level player I would consider playing BJ here at the DD table, (DAS) and go for the room comps. Some last pics from SLS - including the "Monkey Bar".

Next stop was Jerry's Nugget, after a quick stop at the Rebel for beer & Powerade for the room. Two $5 matchplays & some luck later I was out with a $45 profit. After dropping off at the room I was hungry, & decided on Market Street as a quick option. Had the $7.99 steak & eggs, not bad.

Met up with some VMB-ers at MSS: Wicked Wife, Jimbucc, Darringreenwood, and sig others. I would run into some of them again later at the D Sigma Derby table. A wonderful time as always meeting other board members.

Headed back to El Co for some 5X points DDW. No deuces, but this was as close as I got:

Won some at SD BJ, then headed up Fremont. Dropped $20 at the 10/7 progs at 4Q eventually made it back to Plaza to get my freeplay sorted.

After a rest, I went back to El Co to take another shot at DDW. No luck again, but a few str flushes kept me about even. Saw a sign that said late happy hour at Parlour bar, including 50 cent wings. So what the hell. Ordered 10 wings, then sat at the one quarter VP machine, and 2nd hand in got this:

Where the hell were they on the other machine?

At the Plaza I gave back all my winnings for the day, dropping $100 at Free Bet BJ, and another $60 at 9/6 Boner Deluxe.

I am seriously reconsidering my schedule now due to new info. I was planning on spending Wed at Gold Coast or Orleans, but I may revamp it.

    Time for some shut-eye.

So today started with a whimper. After 5 hours of sleep I went to GG & hit 1 of 2 MPs. Then down to the D, where I had conveniently left my MP coupon back in the room. Got $10 freeplay loaded from their email promo, + $5 already on there. Played NSUD, got nada. I mean really, 12 hands, zero payback. I then proceeded to dump $40 of my own money to try to earn points towards the ACG promo, and it was gone in a flash.

No problemo, off to 4Q & the quarter 10/7 DB. Another 10 minutes, another dropped $40. At this point I threw in the towel, & went to check in at Downtown Grand. Went to Players Club (which has moved back next to the cashier) to activate a $10 MP, which I conveniently had left in the room. Ain't it Grand being a Senior?

I had been considering blowing off the senior promos at Orleans/Gold Coast, but decided I needed a change of scenery. Went to Orleans 1st, got 5X points and was seriously considering going to GC to see if I could get a higher multiplier. For some reason I couldn't find the full pay DBDW near Keno, so I took the long walk down towards the poker room. Man, am I glad I did. 2nd twenty in I hit these bad boys almost back-to-back:

Ate the free buffet, won a MP & a few bucks at BJ, now back at Plaza. Will be moving my stuff later on, but for now I think a nap is in order. Maybe a tub soak also, no tub at the Grand. Up nearly $300 now for the trip.

Deuces on the right game now! And 5 Aces isn't bad either. Interesting pic of it to with the cloud on the cards.
