I'm not sure that is a bedbug. It very well could be but they normally don't go out for a walk in daylight. They like to hide between mattresses, in walls, under floorboards, etc and wait until it's dark and then go look for food(blood)

I also read here on the VMB (so it must be right) that they look like pepper, so am assuming they're small... that's a BIG piece of pepper?

We need Dewey, our resident VMB expert on bedbugs to comment. Yea or nay, Dewey?

That's a bed bug. Doesn't look outlandishly large for one. May have had a nice meal recently though ....

Bedbugs are a bummer but there is no hotel that is immune, because any traveller could bring them with, and they don't just hang out in open spaces. I would not be concerned about this unless a property gets a raft of complaints at the same time indicating a multi-room infestation, and/or a place that isn't working quickly to address them.

The disappointing part is Wynn's lack of response to the people. I had read in the past that Wynn took the luggage of anyone who found a bed bug in one of their rooms and heat treated to prevent them transferring the bugs to their newly assigned room and to their homes. This person has posted that Wynn says the room checked ok when they brought in the bed bug dog but that is indeed a bed bug. I suppose it could have been brought in by housekeeping from another room or by the people (from the plane, taxi etc) but ptecautions with the luggage and a response by Wynn would be expected.

You wanna "dis" a hotel -- just post they had bedbugs.
    *
I deal w/ "The Public" everyday -- in a public, village owned building.
The stuff they complain about is ALOT of fairytales.
Many people feel important if they can come up with a complaint.
    I've heard it all.
Cockaroaches running across the floor -- it was a bug.........never one roach in 18 yrs !
The woman claimed she had an "Entimalogy ( sp?) Degree from Harvard"
    *
Ice on the front steps -- it had rained in 60 degree temp's - the steps were wet...not icy.
    *
Rats in the dumpsters -- Never had one rat - we have black squirrels.
    *
"It's freezing in that room" -- next person complained "It's too hot !"
    *
With the internet -- and photoshop -- make up whatever you want - and someone will listen to you.

I remember a product on Shark Tank that checked for bedbugs in hotel rooms. I don't remember if it really worked or if it ended up being marketed.

Looks to fat to be a bed bug. Plus the taking the time to stage everything seems odd. Had the misfortune to stay in a hotel room where we found a bed bug. We got out of the room as fast as we could and cleared out the other people that were staying with us. Took a quick picture and got out.

I asked the exterminator who works next door, his response "not a bedbug, not even close". That may explain why the Wynn had not responded as mentioned, sounds to me like someone is trying to get a free room.

Bed bugs are flat though. That insect doesn't appear to be flat.

Though, I have to admit, I'm not an expert.

Also, I always assume the larger the hotel, the more likely it is to have bed bugs. Very has the largest hotels in the world.

Perhaps the "exterminator" would recognize a bedbug when he sees one from this photo. Same incident, just a different view.

I sure can't tell, but if an exterminator says "no" that's what I'll go with.........
