I started a similar thread on TA a few weeks ago and loved all the responses so thought I'd ask the VMB lot what your favourite non-gambling Vegas memory is?

Mine was the first time I saw the Bellagio Fountains. I'd been hoping they'd play my favourite song but knew I'd have to be lucky to be there at the right time. So, I'm standing there cuddling my BF and my favourite song (Time To Say Goodbye) starts... Oh my god, I was so excited and immediately started crying because I was so happy. That's got to be one of the most special moments of my life.

My other favourite memory was the moment I got into my room on my first trip and I looked out of the window to an amazing view of the Strip. I couldn't believe I was actually there rather than just looking at photos. I'll never forget that feeling.

I'm looking forward to making many more happy memories when I go back :)

Sitting patio front at Olives, sun is going down, lights on the strip going on, cocktails and the fountains going off. Perfection.

My very first trip - sitting on the shuttle w/my sister going down the Strip and seeing all those lights for the first time. I couldn't believe how big and GREEN MGM was, or how flashy Flamingo was, or how cool the TI sign was (when the pirate sign was still up).

Yeah, I remember being amazed by how green MGM is too. You can recognise it from miles away

Mine took place at the old Aladdin in the 80s when every casino had a really good lounge act. The friend I used to travel to Vegas with and I went to see the band in the lounge and ended up making a bunch of friends from various tables and eventually the tables were pushed together and we all sat together having a great time. One guy was supposed to leave the next morning. When the band stopped around 3 a.m., we all agreed to meet in the lounge the next night, except Caesar (his real name), the guy that was supposed to fly out early that morning. We all met and were sitting together when in walks Caesar and in his Spanish accent says "I missed my fly!" You had to be there but it seemed hysterical. We agreed to meet the next night, warned Caesar to set an alarm and get a wake up call and couldn't believe it when in ge walked again the next night. There are a couple of people from those new found Vegas friends that I still keep in touch with. It was one of the most fun trips to Vegas with a great group of new friends.

Another favourite....first time at Cosmo in a wrap-around terrace suite, sitting on the terrace drinking champagne and watching the fountains. Later, having a mimosa and watching the lights on the strip go out as the sun came up. The terrace at Cosmo never gets old for me.

Outdoor patio at Rio, at VooDoo lounge . Watching the sun go down and the lights of the city come up. I think we spent 3 hours there that night, just chilling.

Sounds great. I love how easy it is to chat to people there. In the UK it's always awkward talking to strangers. I haven't kept in touch with anyone I spoke to but I remember having a good laugh with people on BJ and roulette tables.

I would love to stay in one of those terrace suites one day. I can imagine how lovely it is sat out there during the evening.

Besides the first time seeing all the bright lights, fountains, downtown light show, etc. It would be either getting loaded on free brunch mimosas, or getting locked in the forum shops at ceasers after hours lol. 2 of us were stuck in there for a good 45 minutes or so!

Lots of great memories but 2 in particular.

    1) Getting married to my husband in October 1998.
    2) On a road trip with my dad. We stayed at the Sands hotel in 1978. My first trip to Vegas. Lots has changed since this one.

This is hilarious! If the spiral escalator was running I would've just ridden that over and over while trying to figure out what to do.

Getting upgraded to a "P" room at Paris. The whole trip for my daughter's 21st birthday. Standing in my husbands arms at the Bellagio fountains, Renewing our vows for our 10th anniversary in full Renaissance clothing at the Canterbury chapel at Excalibur. And this one will always stand out, even though it's sort of gamboling, but not by me: I was 19, married to a Vegas Local (since divorced) who was in the Army, we were "home" on leave before shipping out to Germany. He took me to several casinos, always got me a drink before wandering off. I was looking for him and heard all this commotion from a table, I walked up to see what was going on, was pulled over and told to blow on the dice. I had no clue what was going on so decided to leave - the guy throwing the dice wasn't having any part of that, grabbed my arm and kept me by his side. I was starting to get nervous, but then he hands the dice to someone else, hands me a black chip, kisses my cheek and walks away. There are lots of others as we have memories of every trip

I think the Cosmo balcony view of the Bellagio fountains is literally orgasmic.

North end of the strip in the early 80s. There was a pretty good snowstorm and tumble weeds were blowing all over the place. Not my favorite memory but it comes to mind every single time I go into the Peppermill for a drink. I seriously can't remember the last time I saw tumble weeds in Vegas but they used to be quite common.

Favorite non-gaming moment: Getting heckled, mercilessly, by Don Rickles. I made the unfortunate mistake of tipping the maitre d' to have a table up front. After the show he came to our table and told my girlfriend I was a good sport and "took it like a man".
